Thanks for the power consumption statistics Mxy :)

I would love to go for a 780i or 790i but it'd cost me $400+ here in Australia... too much for me, instead I'll just keep my current one and put a cheapy in my dad's machine.

PS.
If your reading reviews on the P5N32-E SLI board... your probably not looking at my board. What did Kozmo just say???
I did mean what I just said - there is the P5N32-E SLI (mine) and a P5N32-E SLI plus model.

The P5N32-E SLI, which I have has the 680i chipset.
P5N32-E SLI Plus is a "hybrid board" - here is an explanation quoted from AnandTech
They took the recently introduced 650i SLI SPP (C55) and paired it with the 570 SLI MCP (MCP55) utilized in the AMD 570/590 SLI product lines. ASUS called this innovative melding of an Intel SPP and AMD MCP based chipsets their Dual x16 Chipset with HybridUp Technology.

Why CRTs?

They are nothing but power hungry, eye straining, flickering massive things.

Also your motherboard does not support 1066 RAM, only goes up to 800Mhz. If you get that board with that Ram then you will be in the same boat as me and have to choose between frequency or latency (OC to 1066 and have rather high latencies or let it default itself to 800 or buy another motherboard or 800Mhz RAM)

Sorry, slight misspelling there - by CRTs I mean to say CRT (singular).
Why a CRT? It is the one I currently have and only cost me $80.
Flickering...? 1280x1024@100Hz and all the way up to 2048x1536 at 80 Hz  ;D.
They do suck the power... but any of the new screens I am interested in are well over $300.
I don't intend on paying that much for a screen that will not be as high res and a little larger than my current one.
I will make the motherboard work with the 1066 ram - don't worry about that :).

I am really stuck now on making a decision on the case - I really need something that will not only keep the CPU cool but exhaust the heat created by the video cards also. The P182 is not designed for this, however I might be able to get away with using some PCI slot coolers  :-\.

I'll be googling cases for the rest of the day :)

Antec-900 is an absolute BEAST of a case.

No need for google ;)

The 1066 ram will step down to 800mhz speeds to work. It's backwards compatible.
License and registration, sir!

Nope, plan to keep the latencies the same... this will make for an interesting OC - I'll send you a pic with cpuz.  :)

Edit: Parts ordered - building next weekend (assuming all parts arrive).

from 800 to 1066 without any increase of latencies. Yeah I would like to see that, what are u going to do blast it with high voltages lol
