·Never give out your CD Key!·
« on: June 19, 2008, 09:20:39 PM »
Recently their has been people asking for CD keys via. PM etc..  If you ever get this certain PM, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CD KEY!. Regardless of who asks, period. Their is a big difference between a CD key and a CD Hash, allthough both are important, the Hash doesnt matter as much as the key. The Key is very important, and should be kept between you and.....you only. If someone got a hold of your key, they could get you banned off every server in halo, Which I think it is safe to say is something no-one would want. So again PLEASE do not give out your CD key to anyone!!!!
Thank you  :)

You can also report ANY PMs you feel are suspect by using the "Report to Admin" feature found on the bottom right corner of every PM.

This goes the same for Registry Info requests, as already mentioned (See this thread for further info).

It might happen that you get a PM in which someone asks you to tell them some information about your Windows registery file. (It happened to me, quite a while ago, didnt give any information).

The person asked me to send some information because something went wrong in his. (I dont know excatly what, can be anything. Like they accidently deleted some stuff).
If you do Not know that they can steal your cd-key that way and you just want to help, it can get you in trouble..

When we ban you from our server, it bans your CD information. The person(s) who would do this would/might get themselves banned, but seeing as it was also your information, you'd be banned too. Its their way of having "more than one life" as it where.
