Also, I'm running dual BFG 9600GT OCs (SLi) with no heat prob' whatsoever! (And I only have one case fan!)

Nice. However I know it's the card because I haven't had any problems since I took out the 9600.

Again, i really dont care what the in-game graphics look like as long as i can PLAY the game with probably 30 fps or more on the lowest settings. I'm just looking the cheapest card on the market that will let play the game. According to that "can you run it" website the card i listed last was above the minimum requirements... Are you sure it wont run it?

EDIT: Mxy i just saw your post... Yes i said up to $70 but i would really prefer one for half that price :/

You do not want 30 FPS in CoD4. You don't even want 40-60. The game was meant to be run at 125 FPS I think, and it has been proven that the lower the FPS you have, the less bullets you will shoot.

Found one for $34.99. I'm almost positive this one has to meet the minimum requirements. >>CLICKY<<

I actually just saw this thread, lol.

I myself have a BFG Tech NVIDIA 7300GT 512MB AGP. It does a great job at running COD4 (I've only tried the demo) on it''s lowest settings. If I remember right, I kicked them up a bit higher, but I also don't mind the loss in FPS. Either way, my card is stupidly a little bit expensive, from your budget markings, because of the AGP. Luckily, you are wanting PCI-E, which is more mainstream now and is almost always cheaper than an AGP counter part if it even has one.

For a nice cheap card, I've spotted out this one. Foxconn 8400GS

It has 512MB of memory, which is the same as my card. But it runs through PCI-E, which, depending on the cards memory clock and everything, is probably faster than mine. It is also based on a higher architecture than my 7300GT. Though it is a GS, which means you won't be snagging tons of performance out of it. Overall, it seems like a good card, especially for the money (it also includes a mail-in rebate as of right now (Mail in rebate ends August 15, 2008 by the way)).

I'm not saying it's the perfect card or anything, but I think it'll do good for what you're wanting. I've never actually had the a Foxconn card before, but I've seen them around.

I was really tired and half asleep when we talked Prplpzn, can you post a screenshot of your CPU-Z page thing i asked you for so i can (and someone double check) that a PCI-E x16 card is defiantly what you need...

I looked it up on the Intel website myself. Graphics connecter is PCI Express x16. Also said something about Expansion Slots for 1 PCI Express* x1, 2 PCI.

Ya, if game-play on the lowest settings and being RIGHT on the edge of the board's capabilities is okay with you, that board might do it....

But that seems like an awfully shortsighted solution, to me!

It's obviously YOUR CALL, tho!  ::)

Um, no.

While it's a GREAT card and all, two things: I'd ONLY trust a 7950GT (OC) from BFG, NO ONE else, and 2) the cheapest it can be found to over $100!  (FYI: He said "under $70, but WANTS a card that's under $35!)....

(Ditto, Gryph!  But I gotta say, that I WOULD HIGHLY recommend the 9600 GT (OC), too! Although I'd recommend one from BFG, for reliability preferences....  Of course, I liked mine so much I bought TWO! (Sli-mode rulz!))

I doubt it, due to this spec: "256MB DDR2, Supporting 512MB with TurboCache".

You were better off spending $20 more for a card (like the one I suggested earlier) that REALLY has 512MB DDR2....
