Cheap-O Microphone (Not Headset)

I'm looking for a cheap-o microphone (not headset, those cost too much) that I can use for voice communication (i.e. a better mic than the one my laptop has for Vent [if I get it], being able to voice chat on Steam, etc), and Google provided me with this one:

I kinda like it, but here's the problem - I don't want to register a Target or Amazon account just for one microphone.

Anywhere else I can get that? OR any good, cheaper ones out there?

Register at Amazon! I love it, it's like my second home.

But if you plan on buying anything online, you're going to have to give them your info.

For an inexpensive microphone, look in eletronics stores.

The microphone in your link is $18. My headset cost $15 at Wal-Mart and it's functional, works for me just fine and one of the cheapest ones you can find. Or at least the cheapest one I could find. ;D

In my opinion, You should get a headset. I had a mic like that for a while.. it was horror

My Headset - $20 (Radio Shack) - Very cheap, works great, long cord, and 270 degree rotation for the mic :)

Got one for my sister, about $12.  Tablec brand.  Came with a monitor mount, very convienient.  Is actually on the loud side, but obviously can be altered.

I didn't want to do a headset because I already had a pair of headphones, and I'd just use that.

But if you insist on a headset, then Diehard, can I have a link to yours?

All tha fuss over head sets, I have always used a £1.00 ($1.60 ish) plug in mike.

I also run halo sound to a screened amp/speaker system, 200w Mirantz Amp and Keff Q Series Speakers.

1) You can get an okay headset for the same price.

2) If you use an "ambient mic" you'll cause echo on vent, and/or sound like your playing Halo in your bathroom....

3) You can get an okay headset for the same price.  ::)

4) You'll regret NOT getting a headset....

5) You can get an okay headset for the same price.  ;D


Also: If you're thinking that you won't like having that thing strapped to your head, you can get "behind-the-neck" headsets (NOT for that price, tho, maybe $5 more), or do as my son does: he puts the headset around the back of his neck, with the earphones OFF of his ears, and the mic still right next to his mouth. ('Looks silly, but using "push-to-talk" he can converse with others physically nearby without any trouble....)

I have one of those behind the neck headsets, and it works great, it doesnt even veel like i'm wearing a headset.

I got mine so it wouldn't leave a line gouged into my gray afro!  ::)
