It is like a skin that goes over windows and covers up the desktop and the start bar and such. It is sill windows, but it is just to make it look a lot better, and it's possible to change what it looks like.

Got bored and made this yesterday, still not quite finished but i thought i'd post what i had so far.....
Byt the way its on quite a big Widescreen monitor so it may seem a lil distorted to you.  :evil:

if ur on windows press "print screen" --> open ms paint --> press "ctrl" + "v" --> save

It's a picture of Darkspine Sonic, and it is AWESOME.  Imageshack didn't seem to want to let me host my ACTUAL desktop, but this is the background picture I use in it's original context, so second best! :D

I have two screens side-by-side. Lefthand one usu. shows: xfire, ventrilo and TV; right-hand one is main workspace or Halo play screen.

Notes:

- My background is plain black, as that saves a LOT of electricity over the time that I have my computer on! (As does frugal use of Windows Power settings....)

- When playing Halo I usually turn off the TV and stretch the ventrilo window to full height so I can see who's on/talking while I play.

- I hide my taskbar to give me the most workspace when I'm working on documents, spreadsheets, code, etc.

- The two links shown (right side of right screen) run a script to switch to a particular Halo profile before I join a game via xfire.

- Winamp pretty-much runs at all times while I'm at my computer....

- The right-hand monitor is on a 2-way KVM switch and can toggle to my second PC.
