Like I said above: It rivals Hidden: Source as one of the spookiest/scariest games I've played ... which is GREAT!
...And while I haven't tried it on my rig yet (it's Steam, right?! Kewl!) sonny's pretty high-end rig can't play it on very high settings. ('Good enogh to play/watch, but not "totally breathtaking....")
When estimating machine needed to play this game at a "pretty" enough level, think Crysis.... (My son wants me to play Crysis on my computer all the time now, so he can marvel at how absolutely gorgeous it is! FYI: All high settings with 8x antialiasing! Woot!)
So yes, it's a thrilling/scary game (at times it
WILL make you jump!), and yes, you might want to check out
Can You Run It? before purchasing.
[FYI: Meeting the "Minimum" spec's means that the game is basically "playable." Exceeding the Recommended specs is where the game gets smooth and playable the way the designers meant it to be....]
