That would be... Monty Python's Flying Circus.
(The classic "Dead Parrot" sketch to be precise)

Yep, it was Red Dwarf.
It was just off a clip I found on Youtube last night - Lister talking about Cat.
I would post the link, but I can't remember if it's suitable - sorry.

Yur up!

Yikes!  I got that one on its TONE!?!  (Although those shows - like Fawlty Towers! - DO have a particular "tone" indeed!  That's part of what makes them so great!)

Hmmmm... Another TeeVee quote, eh? . . .

P1: "I've just never blown up a star before."
P2: "Well, they say the first one is always the hardest."

I seem to remember that being Futurama, but I'm not sure.
Yeah, Britcoms do seem to be quite distinctive. 'S what I like about them.

Ya, I think there'smore than one episode in Futurama where they blow up a star, but that's not where this quote comes from, I'm afraid.

Hint: These two characters in the team of four that make up the main characters of the show are the only two of the four with military rank.

Hmm, this is more of a random guess than an actual attempt... but I faintly remember watching/hearing something like that before.

Is it from Stargate SG-1, or possibly Stargate: Atlantis...?

P1: [pointing to x-ray] See? The second bullet passed through your neck and pushed the first bullet out. You should be completely ambulatory again.

P2: [distraught] What good is that to a man who has to spend the rest of his life in a chair?

[P1 stabs P2 in the leg with a fork]

P2: Aaaaaah! Doc, your fork has magical powers!

P1: It's the bullet that saved you.

P2: This is great! We've gotta go back on tour and spread the word. Guns are good!

P3: What?

P2: Without guns I'd still be in a wheelchair. Guns heal the sick!

Sounds suspiciously like The Simpsons or Family Guy, but I'm not certain.
