Built in Spell checks
« on: February 24, 2009, 10:53:00 PM »
Before i reformatted, whenever i posted text, on any website, it would under line (in red) any typos or grammatical errors.

Not too long ago, i splashed a load of drink on my "button board" (Ben... ;) lol).

Some keys i have to press harder than others...specially th EEEEEE ky.
...Other tymes its a simpul cayce of mizzpelt verds i missed dyuring skewling.  ;D

Anyway, i no longer have this function since the "nuke and pave", i dont know what or where the spell check came from, whether it was a firefox plugin, a specific windows update maybe, or if it was just provided by the forums and was possibly removed during the time i reformatted. But i would like it back?

Can anyone help?

Firefox has an inbuilt spell check function, which should be enabled by default.

Two things to check:

#1) Did you download the en-US version of Firefox, or another locale version?
#2) Tools > Options > Advanced > "Check my spelling as I type" must be checked.

If you downloaded the en-UK version of Firefox, try downloading a dictionary

saes beat me to it, but he also left out the last tab to select:

Tools > Options... > Advanced > General > "Check my spelling as I type" in the "Browsing" pane must be checked.

As for your "button board's" "spill resistance:" 'Might be time for a new one? (They're almost impossible to clean after certain spills onto them, and usually not worth trying....)

This i had already checked and was still not working. The dictionary plugin has sorted it though.

Now its back to Tescos for another cheapo keyboard!

Ta much for the assistance.

Default tabs need no instruction. :)
