Questions about Halo Laptop play?
« on: June 03, 2009, 08:15:08 PM »
Vista or XP?
How large should the screen be for optimal play? (I usually played at a 800X600 resolution on my mom's computer before it played it's swan song.)

The reason I ask is because I've missed playing on the servers so much, that I've gone so far as begging on my knees to my boss for more hours at work and started stalking her, dropping random candy bars in her mailbox. (She likes chocolate. Alot.)

My dad still has his computer locked in a maximum security facility, and even as I type this he's giving me funny looks...

That looks a bit "old school" to me, so I'd expect it to be inexpensive (like under $500.)

Also, "officially" Microsoft says that Halo is NOT supported on "integrated graphics" as you show on that laptop, but it does seem to run "okay" on some of the newer chipsets.

Summary: I would NOT buy that as a gaming machine....

Yeah, I'm lucky that mine has some kind of nvidia graphics card on it. Otherwise I wouldn't be playing Halo! v.v -pats Mderms on the back- I know it's tough.
Being a good racer in Halo isn't just about getting the best times. You have to know where your teammates and enemies are, and most of all... how to be crafty! XD -nods-

Oh... and "v.v" = sad face.

Props to Plixity for the first sig, Slayton for the Season XIII trophy sig, and Jane for the banner! Thx guys! ^.^

Second Opinion? Mxy? Anybody?

If it makes any difference I have no problems with grey spartans. I played with them for over four years on my Mom's old machine before it croaked.

Is a 2003 release year considered "new"?

Well, considering that 1 earth year is around 20 years in technology (Shows you how fast we're expanding), I would say a 2003 release date is old.
You blame me?  Remember it had to get past 10 other players before I saw the ball.

Thanks to Spidey for this sig!                                                                                                                  .

So, back to the question at hand, would this computer be good for Halo play? Halo being released in 2003?

Again the specs.
