The story is that P1 is actually wondering if P2 is a spy, and therefore he begins to quote the American national anthem. He begins with the land of the free, home of the brave line.  P2 obviously knows the home of the brave line, as most people would. P1 then begins a random, very obscure line that the almost every American wouldn't know, but a spy would because it was thought they would memorize the entire thing in case anyone questioned them. P2 obviously responded by finishing the line and yeah....

I didn't get that part at all.  I just figured it sounded like those phrases that spies say to each other.  Never heard of the "gloom of the grave"

This probably isn't right but....

A young woman goes to another country and she kills the first person she meets by infecting them with a disease native in her country. Then, she "teams up" with some doctors who help her body "Kill" the disease.

Oh, and her name is pirate lady, shes from pirate land, and she had pirate flu.

Was she/they aware she/they had killed?  Yes, in both cases, although both were accidental!

Did she plan to meet the other three people?  No

Was she kidnapped ("whisked away to a far off land")? She was not, yet she did not go willingly.
