Fatal Error for when opening halo

When my computer crashed today i was able to get the computer back up and running so i install everything back in and every time i try opening up halo it gives me this error- "A problem occured initializing DirectDraw. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG." I tried reinstalling halo 4 or 5 times but it does the same thing. Any help will be appreciated.

Start > Run > Type 'dxdiag' without the apostrophes > Choose 'Display 1' tab at the top > Ensure 'DirectDraw Acceleration' is ENabled > DO the same if you have a second monitor for Display 2 tab > Save all information > Exit > Try running it again.

When you re-installed everything, did you update your video drivers? Were they the correct ones? Did you install DirectX 9?

Rubiks will have those answers based on what dxdiag finds....

As for having the latest drivers, tho, see here on the best/safest way to get the latest drivers for your Graphics Adapter (GA, or "video card, to most!  )
