When i see the BFM servers for CE, i.e #3 and K/O/S in my xfire, and i try and join the game it says "Your client is newer than the server's", and doesnt let me join. :bang:
Anyone know what this is about?

I had this problem joining a few servers a while back on normal Halo.

I think it just means that your client (version of Xfire) is newer than the CE server, so it doesn't let you join that server.

That is just my understanding of the problem. I'm sure others will have a more detailed response :)

This is why I don't use xfire for joining servers or creating favourites. Just use it to IM people and just search servers the normal way :XD:

I think xfire has a problem distinguishing halo from halo CE.

When you add the server to favorites, there should be a drop-down menu just above the space where you enter the server ip address.

make sure you select halo custom edition in this menu and you may have more luck.

Oddly enough that message means that your client is newer than the server.

Really.

Your version of CE is a NEWER VERSION than the one running that you're trying to join.

This is usually the result of trying to join Halo CE ... with a NORMAL HALO PC program.  (You WERE clicking on a HOL CE shortcut, yes??  'bet not...)

I tried to join from xfire BUT when i do click on the CE shortcut it doesnt display the BFM server

How did you add the icon (not a "shortcut") to the list in xfire?  Are you sure it was either 1) a CE server that you were looking at/entering info for, and 2) had the Halo CE xfire Game type selected when you added it? (The icons for Halo and Halo CE are IDENTICAL.)

Double check both things.

Also if you added that server to your favorites before you got custom edition , x-fire will try to join it using combat evolved
