Norton 360 IE Toolbar (need to get rid of)
« on: September 23, 2007, 10:53:32 AM »
First off, please don't bash my computer, I like IE7 and I like norton, I like it how it is except that stupid toolbar.

Who knows how to get rid of this? I've tried right clicking everything, clicking the options seeing if there is anything to delete it. I've searched internet for answers, none yet, figured I'd post here :)

Thanks.

It looks smudged, heres a link: http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/8823/nortonbfmtr0.jpg

I wish it were that easy. I've tried that and no luck.

Err dunno if you've tried this but right-click the blank bit of the toolbar, sorta below the adress bit and to right of tabs, the uncheck the norton bit. if not try looking in norton inter secur, and see if any option in there if not Unistall it and get a better anti-virus :) :P

Stupidly, as far as I know, you can't get rid of it. I beta tested it a while back before it was released and couldn't figure out how to do it either.

So unless someone can shed some new found light for you, I think your out of luck. :aaaaa: :zoid:

I was looking around and found some person with the same problem, he later posted in that forum that he had fixed it but didn't say how he did, so I do think it's possible.

If it bugs me enough then I might sign-up on that forum.

Um, it's easier than you think!

Go into Norton 360 (All Programs -> yadda-yadda-yadda...) and DISABLE the "anti-phishing" capability.

The toolbar will then go away, and you should avoid visiting "unusual sites" thereafter!  ;)
