Exchanging my Xbox 360 arcade for an Elite?
« on: December 22, 2009, 09:15:05 PM »
I bought an Xbox 360 arcade system from GameStop about 6 days ago.

Will they let me exchange it for an Elite if I pay the differnce.

It is opened and have been on it.

Hmm..they should, as long as there is no physical damage to it...but I'm not exactly keen on the policies for Gamestop, so you could check on their website maybe?

I don't think you will be able to trade it and pay the difference. You might have to pay full for the Elite and sell the arcade back to them for less than what you payed or sell it online maybe. This might be different where you're from but where I'm from I wouldn't be able to get a refund of purchase price and paying for the difference (I think, I'm not entirely sure).

Microsoft is very insistent on making SURE that you are given the most inconvenience you can possibly be given, including not letting you get a refund and paying difference.

Give it a try, anyway, because the Elite console is so much more worth-while than Arcade :)

Good luck on dealing with an Xbox 360  :)

I highly doubt they will take the arcade back for the price you payed for it. As soon as the seal's broken its value usually halves. Besides, apart from the colour of the xbox case, (which can be changed), you can buy a HDMI cable and bigger hard drive for the arcade to make it as good as an elite console! that would most probably be cheaper anyway :) hope that helps  :-\

Trade it in for a PS3!!!

*Runs Back*

In all seriousness though, I would go in and ask, the worst thing they can say is no.  :)

And Bruin is right, u can upgrade it, and if anyone's interested, lately (Plz note that stock goes in and out so this is inconsistent) XS Cargo has been selling arcade Xbox 360's with a controller, headset and 20GB hard drive for $179 CAN (Which reminds, I'm pretty sure XS Cargo is Canadian....so I guess for Canadians interested  :-\ ...sorry  :P )

Anyway, I hope you get a solution Bob!
