Last Thursday, in the English town of Plymouth, Casper the cat died. Headline news this would not be, but for the fact that Casper was a regular passenger on the number 3 bus. So regular that he never had to pay for his ticket and the drivers would stop to pick him up and drop him off again.
Apparently this story has passed across the world and the cat's owners have received tribute from people in the US and Australia.
But that loveable cat, star of one of those very English stories, has passed on.
In the
New York Daily this story was reported and a spokesman for First Devon said that,
In the U.K., people over the age of 65 travel on the bus free. So we worked out that the cat was about 111 years old in cat years, therefore it was fine. He can travel free."
It's sad to hear of this news.
