xfire not taking screenshots?
« on: January 30, 2010, 08:25:44 AM »
Hi,

I attempted to record a lap time in 360 seconds today... and succeeded exactly. 360.00 seconds, no more no less!!

I then proceeded to take a screen shot of this using xfire. It did not work. My short cut key is currently set to Scroll Lock + Print Screen. I can take videos, enter the web, chat, etc., using xfire in Halo, but not take screenshots. Has anyone else noticed this, and is there an easy fix?

Well that is all very puzzling... it worked that time.

I'm guessing it's an internet conspiracy designed to stop me taking over the world... or at least show the world that I have impeccable timing.

I suggest that you NOT use the PrtScr key.  It might actually be interfering with xfire's attempt at taking the screenie. (In other words: they're BOTH "fighting" to take the screenie, and which one works is likely more random than anything else....)

Worst part is: You probably HAD THE SCREENIE IN YOUR CUT BUFFER until you cut something else!

Well at the time of the initial fault I had the default ScrollLock+S but that didn't work so I changed it. I'll change it back, since it seems that the problem is intermittent, and I'm sure your advice is sound.

I have the same problem sometimes. I have my keys set to Scroll Lock+S and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Thanks to Manticore for that!

Thank you BFM_Arya for those!!

I use alt+Z and it works 100% of the time, every time. (lol can't remember what movie that's off)

I think setting it to something that doesn't have any other shortcut assigned to it would be the best option, so theres no other processes happening that might interfere with the screenshot.
