The easiest thing to do is get a network adapter for your printer that you would then simply wire into your router and hence your LAN. (All my printers are connected this way....) This turns your printer into a generally-available network device on your router's LAN. Setup is generally very easy.
There are some problems in doing this, however: 1) You must get an adapter that is of the correct connector type for your printer, 2) They're hard to find any more, since many printers now have wireless built in (and the printer makers would rather you bought a new one!
), and 3) They're a bit pricey. (I got mine back when they were just $35.)
Doing some of the homework.legwork for you, since you were thoughtful enough to give the printer make & model, I can tell you these things you need to know:
-
Handy link to Epson info about this product- It has a USB 2.0 interface
Luckily it being USB means that you'll have a LOT of adapters to choose from , and they'll be inexpensive, too! It ALSO means that you can even go wireless if you want to! (kewl!)
Here's a general Google search for these beasties.I can't really make a recommendation for any of them, their being so many different ones, and what with them changing all the time, but scan through them, and any buyer feedback they might have, and post what you think you'd get here and I/we can look at it in more depth.
