vent works only when not in halo--aint that useful? :(
« on: March 26, 2010, 03:57:26 PM »
Hey guys,

I can log into Vent, and speak when Vent is the program I'm selecting, but when I open up anything (Control Panel, Halo, etc...) my voice no longer goes through. It worked earlier when I was first getting Vent set up, but now my speaker icon just stays red when I'm actually playing Halo (I'm playing in a window in order to see). My hotkey is Left Shift, my input device is set to use my microphone, and my output device is Direct Sound. My sound card is Realtek High Definition Audio.

A couple people suggested that something might be an issue with my settings, where Halo automatically mutes my mike, but the check box remains empty after I open the program.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Do you run Halo as administrator?  If you do, then you probably need to run vent as administrator as well.
