I, I'm new to the whole server operator thing and I need your help. I just downloaded software for the dedicated server software but i cant figure out how to work it. I'd really like to know how you guys did it. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

First read the Readme.rtf file in the main folder of the installed DS.

Then go here and find EVERYTHING YOU'LL NEED to setup and run your own Halo (CE) dedicated server.  (Much of the stuff at this site is the same for a Halo DS and for a Halo CE DS, so it's an excellent resource for them both....)

And when it comes to forwarding the necessary ports on your router, go here for specific, detailed instructions on how to do that!  (You'll need the router's PASSWORD, however, or someone else that manages the router will need this info from you....)
