My girlfriend would ask you if you've listened to each of them at least once.  At least, that's what she asks me.

There are still some bands that I know about but purposefully haven't listened to.  One example that comes to mind is Trivium... haven't touched em but I know they're good.  Once you listen once, it'll never be the same ever again.

But wow even if I downloaded everything I want, I don't know if I'd hit 14,000.  That's an impressive number from my standpoint.  Someday I aspire to be more musically savvy than I am now... but then you'll have improved as well... hmm quite the predicament.

Marty shall always be the superior guitar hero =]

1) No I haven't but I'm getting there! I have a problem with listening to things in phases. I listen to one thing almost to the exclusion of everything else. I sometimes do this with movies too, but far more rarely. At heart, I'm sort of too cowardly to try new things, so I'll listen to about one new album a week and then go back to whatever I was listening to...I had about a month of just listening to Muse, and similar things with Steve Vai, Thin Lizzy, Beethoven, Iron Maiden, Miles Davis, The Brecker Brothers, Paramore and the Lion King. Yes. The Lion King. It has awesome songs.

I can stand this repetitiveness because I don't really forget them anyway, so why does it matter if I listen to/watch them straight away or if it's in a year's time? Unfortunately, my family don't share this 'disease' so I once drove my brother right of Queen by just playing the greatest hits CD day and night for a month. Good times...

2) An awful lot of those 14'000 tracks are from soundtracks and really long 'albums'...e.g. Mozart's 'The Marriage of Figaro' has 62 songs, the Centenary Collection of Duke Ellington has 100 songs and the collective recordings of Rafael Mendez has 114 songs. It all adds up...but yeah, the Soundtrack section features a good 5'000 of those tracks, I'd guess...it also features Game music soundtrack, like Medieval: Total War II or the soundtracks to Halo and Halo 2...and Halo 3...

3) Bilge. Just practice, man! I'm an intermediate guitarist, there's thousands of thousands out there better than me. I just play over ventrilo...

I have somewhere near 20-30,000 tracks.

Will take a screeny when I get home, apparently don't have a recent one in my PB account, most recent is only 72gb of music lawl

Yes, specifcally the Armin van Buuren folder is around 20-30 gigs alone. Plus other artists like Mind.In.A.Box, VNV Nation and others I have the entire discographies for, as well as the flac rips. The Fabric folder is around 30 gigs or so, it's the complete discography, Fabric 1 to 45 now I think?

I only have ~8.7GB of music, and about 870 songs.

Also, another forum I'm part of (Ultimate Guitar) has a little cover competition once a month, where people put up a cover they learned in a week and people vote on whose is best. Anyone else wanna do that.
