this is just like DotA or Defense of the Anicents. Made by the same guy too. Pretty much, all it has is better graphics and different heros. Everything else pretty much the same.

It's limited beta. Dominion becomes available for a time and then they take it down again. It seems to be quite regularly though.

It's capture and hold. There are locations on the map you can capture from each other. It's very fast-paced with a high gold income and experience flow. Short games by comparison to Classic Mode. With each capture you have, the enemy Nexus' health reduces more quickly.

Also, going off of Elkric's reply. If you hold 3 of the 5 positions, then you don't lose any health on your nexus. I don't know what happens if both teams hold 2 positions and the extra one is neutral.

And yes, you need to hold the majority of the points to keep your nexus health from decreasing whilst decreasing the enemy nexus' health. If you hold the same amount of points as the opposing team, 1/1, 2/2, no matter if there are neutral points, no health from either nexus is lost.

Also a kill on a champion will also decrease the nexus' health, sort of working of the kill streak format, the higher the kill streak they/you are on, the more health the nexus will lose, up to 50 points.

Dominion is already getting sort of boring...just not nearly as much depth as Summoner's Rift.

The only thing I can think they need to change on LOLD is possibly making the Point Defense score +7 or +8 a tick (it's +5 currently).  Reason being that people like Heimer and Karthus can hold down a point all game long and do a great job but not get much recognition in the way of scoring and therefore they come in last and everyone says they did nothing :C

I play movespeed Rammus with ghost+revive and stack zeals/phantoms.  It's won me a fair share of games.
