keyboard/wireless card for new computer?
« on: April 27, 2012, 10:35:21 AM »
I think everyone I know doesn't use a gaming keyboard, maybe they could have a display in a store or what not.

Second question, I know most of you are direct connected to your modem but I wont be, So does anyone know of a good wireless card to place into my PC?

I realized after posting this that this is the "...Your Rig" thread, and that this should've been posted in the Tech Support thread, methinks. If a Forum Admin sees this, it should probably be split off....

Sorry, but I can't parse the first line posted in order to give an answer...

As for the second: Let Me Google That For You, since I, myself, have no first-hand knowledge about any of these things. (Seem's like cutting off your ears and then gluing on walkie-talkies!  )

A couple of notes about what I put in the search and why:

- You want the device to be 802.11 "g" OR "n", as "a" and "b" are WAY out of date nowadays. Find out which your wireless router supports ("g", "n", or both) before shopping.

- Either USB2 or USB3 should work well enough, but DO NOT get one that's "USB" AKA "USB 1.0" as it is archaic and too slow for gaming over-the-air. (USB3 is probably total overkill, too, but if you don't have any USB2 ports available, a USB3 one will do, of course!)

GL!

P.S. Please PM me/post back here and let me know what device you ended up getting and how it works out for you, as I might run into this setup at some point in the near future (for someone else, not me!...)

Thanks for finding that capable-looking WiFi device.  I'll be very interested in hearing from you first-hand about its performance before I give it a try!
