*edit note* problem solved

I was making movies, and copying them alot not realizing how much space they took up.  So I went and deleted them.  I deleted a whole bunch of other things too, but only from folders I created on my desktop, like photos for posting, videos etc... I didn't think I deleted anything important  :aaaaa:.

I just went to run vent and it said something like "you can't run vent that way" I should have taken a screen shot of it, but it said something like that and to do with libraries.  I clicked it and the vent window opened but tiny, so I made it larger and it was all blank and I seem to have lost my settings.

I don't think I did this!   But the fact that I just deleted 20 gigs of junk and it not working are too coincidental.  What did I do?  How do I fix it?  Do I just add the server info and password and start over?  I'm going to try that now, I'll check back.

BTW I have an iMac G4, the last pre intel.

Yea, add the servers info and pass again. If that doesn't work, keep playing with it. If you still can't get it, re-install it.

ya, I'd just reinstall vent.... (Don't try to UNinstall it first tho. Dunno on a Mac, but on Windoze it can get rid of your settings.  If you lost your settings tho, you'll have to rebuild things - if you don't have a backup!  ;) )

Get Windows.

OK! It had toibe said.

I would just reinstall Ventrilo first. That should re-(make?) any files that were deleted in the process of your mass-deletion-spam-fun.

Get Windows.

I wouldn't count on someone with a Mac switching to Windows. :P

Well, I don't really use Vent, but if you haven't already fixed it I can offer a constructive suggestion :P .

Delete the folder ~/Library/Preferences/Ventrilo (if it still exists) and try again.

If that doesn't work, delete it again and then re-run the Vent installer.  As far as I can tell, the Vent installer only puts stuff under /Applications/Ventrilo.app and /Library/Preferences/Ventrilo.
