You should stay on your hog if your gunning and try to beat them. You cant jump off the gun of a full hog. You then leave your driver exposed with no defense. So stay on the gun try to beat the other gunner. I know at some point you figure you have lost the battle but you might stay alive long enough for your driver to make it out safely.
