Hello all!
It has been way too long! Halo Racing has been quiet for a very long time, but I know many of us are itching to come back for a few maps. I know that many of us have dedicated most of our time elsewhere, but I think that we can put aside some time for a night of racing. I think that April 15th (Friday) at 7 pm CST is a perfect day for as many of us to come together to fill a server. Let every racer you know that April 15th at 7 pm is the night that we fill a server, and continue to spread the word. If April 15th happens to not work for you, please let me know. I look forward to seeing everyone on the 15th, and please post that you will be attending!

** I believe these times to be accurate. Expecting someone bright like three60 to come along and verify for me.

Because obviously, my time spent at one of the world's top universities was meant to prepare me for converting between time zones :P
At any rate, I will try to be there at 1am. Or 2am. Whenever.

I installed Halo on my wonderful, brand new computer, but it won't run. Will have to try to install again. I have high hopes, this computer can do anything. I'm probably doing something wrong. Stupid humans.

Do any of you know if Halo even runs on Windows 10? It would be good to know before I waste my Saturday trying to find my CD key txt file. :interesting:

I have Windows 10 and Halo runs for me. Some people have had trouble with Halo on 10, so I think hardware / software can cause compatibility problems at times.

Regarding Ventrilo... the last time I was on was 18 to 24 months ago... is everything still the same? I had a look around the forums and site, and could only find the IP/port (70.32.42.18:4795) on the main site. Has the password changed lately?

I installed Halo on Win10 and it didn't work. Searched around and found the 1.09 patch, installed that (run as administrator, etc etc) and now it works fine. So try that.

So it was fun! Had a good turn out, in the server and on Vent. We had moments where we suddenly remembered the terminology, like "oh yeah, it's called Sandy!" and "the squeeze! I forgot about that!" My favorite was Crimson asking "what is it called when someone jumps in the gun seat and waits? Gun hogging?" It took us a second to remember. (It's "gun hopping" :P).
We should have another planned get-together again! Maybe I'll get rotation.

Had a blast! The terminology was fun. Lucky had a moment when he remembered the term "elbow", clearly not having said it for 5 years. I pointed that out, everyone laughed.
Bit rusty on the rules though, you're allowed to shoot down from cliffs, just not up, right?

This needs to happen again. Catching up with everyone was great and the nostalgia was almost too much to handle.

This was a lot of fun! Please make this happen at least once a month. Also funny how we were trying to remember BFM rules.

What if we get together every 2nd Friday of the month? That way it is easy to remember.

Hey everyone!
I'd definitely fire up Halo sometime. I missed the April date, but it'd be neat to talk to you folks and get back on for some maps. Hope you're doing well if you see this.
