Title: BFM - Training - Part 1
Post by: BFM_SüprM@ñ on June 04, 2010, 09:19:11 PM
1423 Hours, September 21, 2536 (Military Calendar)/Epsilon Eridani System, Reach Military Complex, Planet Reach

"Get up you maggots!" HogZilla said, watching his recruits stand up after their 100th set of push ups. "You think this is hard!? Try single-handedly wrestling a hunter, that's hard."

"I bet his training wasn't this hard...." Jeff whispered to Soul over a "private" com-line.

"I heard that..." Zilla said, casting an eye in Jeff's direction. " And you're right..." All of the recruits looked at him, wide-eyed and unsure of what to say or do. "It was TEN TIMES HARDER now drop and give me 20 more!" Groans emitted out of each of the recruit's helmets as they fell to the ground and began the next set.

They were at a private training facility on Reach. Dr. Halsey's spartan training program was going on elsewhere, her spartan's completely oblivious to BFM and it's training program. Of course the leaders of the program knew, and they were almost competing in a sense, Halsey's spartans against Elvis's spartans. Each set boasted a large number of members and recruits, each spartan was trained to be tougher than the bulkhead of a Destroyer. The only difference was that Elvis's program was constantly looking for new recruits while Halsey's had stopped, at least temporarily.

While Zilla continued to breath fire down the necks of his recruits, someone else was escorting their new recruit around the area. "As you can see, this is where the obstacle course is, it's actually not really that difficult." Edison said without even glancing in the course's direction.

"Easy for you to say, you've already been trained." Elkric passively said as he eyed the course in fear. Bullets were wizzing over the heads of rows of unarmored spartans as they crawled beneath a net of barbed wire. Next came a 50 foot rock wall, no harness while the ground shook from the explosions on the other side of it.

"Eh, it's really just... weak. I made the entire course in less than 2 minutes." Edison continued, still apathetically looking forward. "Over there is Cool's Cafeteria, past that is Elvis's executive offices which are home to each officer. If you ever have any question that I can't answer, you can just ask one of them." This time Edison was actually paying attention to the offices, just in case an officer exited he wanted to be able to snap into attention immediately.

Suddenly, alarms sounded, lights flashed, sirens whined, and each and every BFM admin went to their assigned stations anxiously awaiting word from The King. "Intruder alert, intruder alert, sector 7A has been breached." a calming, female voice announced over an intercom. Most might think that it was the resident AI, however BFM opted to not have a base AI in order to ensure security. It was in fact the voice of BFM_Wic.

"It appears to be a false alarm, everyone return to your regular duties." came Elvis's voice over the intercom.

'Perfect, these spartans are dumber than I thought..." the Elite thought to itself as it hid in a shadow despite the fact that it's active camouflage was still running.

"Man, I was ready to finally do something!" Zakk said, looking over to SuprM@n.

"Yeah, I know what you mean. There hasn't been any action in a while, but I guess it's better that way. I'd never really wish an attack on the facility." Supr responded.

"Oh no, I'd never wish it either, but I do miss the front lines sometimes. It's just too quiet around here." Zakk managed just as the explosions began on the obstacle course.

"So, you're telling me that this guy isn't even from the same family as the other Elite that invaded us?" Elvis asked Navy as they both stared at a screen, watching the camouflaged Elite cautiously move through the corridors.

"That's correct, sir. 'Negotiations' were made with the Argimee clan. We agreed that we would not make them extinct if they left. I doubt they'd be foolish enough to test us. Also, this elite's armor is a bit more advanced and of a completely different style." Navy reported.

"Very well then, alert all of the other officers, the others don't need to know until we're officially at war." Elvis said, contemplating as he looked at the corner of his office.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. = ) I'm going to do my best to try and include as many BFM's as possible. Guests are also welcome to request a spot, I'll do my best to get your personality right if I don't know ya.

In fact, just in case I'm not too familiar with ya, you can just send me a PM requesting a spot in one of my stories along with the kind of personality you have or even what kind of personality you want your character to have. = )

OHHH!!! I want to be part of it  Make me one of the bad guys that stay in the longest if you guys have a war.

Just an idea: If you guys do a war, do it BFMs v. Guest of BFMs (me as commander in army) and someone else as leader :)

Very Nice!

I'm out of town for a couple of weeks and come back to a pleasant surprise!  Good flow, nice sprinkling of some background history, and excellent way to introduce a new mysterious character that leaves the reader wanting more!  Well done!
