"Halo 5's Forge mode is heading to PC for free"
« on: May 19, 2016, 05:14:28 PM »
Halo 5: Guardians' Forge mode will be available on Windows 10 as a free download later this year, Microsoft announced. Players will be able to create and play original levels on PC, as well as share them to the Xbox One version of the game.

Included in the PC version of Forge mode is keyboard and mouse support and 4K resolution, the company noted. These are among the over level design tools available in the popular mode, all of which will be available on Windows 10 at no cost to players.

The full Halo 5: Guardians is just available on Xbox One for now, however. Forge — Halo 5: Guardians Edition for Windows 10 is just a stand-alone title, and is currently the only way fans can play Halo 5 on Windows PC — at least, one part of it. To its credit, Halo 5's Forge mode is the biggest version of the feature to date, according to developer 343 Industries, featuring new, overhauled tools and controls. You can preview some of the most popular maps in the Xbox One version below.

Microsoft has made several of its big Xbox One titles playable on Windows 10 as of late. In February, the company announced that it was bringing Quantum Break, one of this spring's major console titles, to Windows 10 day-and-date with the Xbox One version. Other games, like this year's Halo Wars 2, are also heading to Windows 10 and Xbox One simultaneously.
