I have played WOW, EQ, EQ2, Vanguard, DAoC, SWG and Guild Wars to name a few  :P
Most MMORGs are pretty much the same. You kill stuff to level up to get items to kill more stuff to level morel to get more items...on and on it goes, it gets old fast for me. Thats one of the reasons I love Halo. It never gets old every game is different. A real player gives you more of a challenge than a computerized monster, but I do like the pvp aspect of the games especially Guild Wars.

No offense but I hate mmmorpg's they are kinda of boring and at one point consume your life. This is just my opinion. BTW feel free to burn me on my opinion.

Is EQ2 any good Honey? I've always looked into doing something about maybe playing it.

I got a 14 day trial last year, I thought it was pretty good so I asked for the game for Christmas. I enjoyed it, but not as much as Halo. I didn't get that far in it though since I insisted on completing every quest I came across along the way. :P

I voted "i dont wana pay $15" because I just payed for it the once and I thought that was enough. Don't want to have to keep paying over and over for a game that you can never complete, it's expensive enough just to pay for the 1 month.

I wouldn't mind getting back into that style of gaming though, it is a lot of fun (City of Heroes was great when I played it at a friends house). I especially wouldn't mind playing if I could get with a few BFM's and play. :)

yeah i got peer pressured into it with a friend of mine awhile ago, i got the game and we went to a popular private server (so wouldn't have to pay for any thing) and PLZ do not ask me about the private server thing. i mostly played it when my friend was playing as well but when she wasnt playing it i would try to do the quests and everything by myself but i found it boring after awhile, i got to lvl 26 i think, so yeah i only find it fun if iam playing it with someone.

i have never played it. and i dont want to.
one of my friends said that over the two weeks of holidays he played it fro about 5 days straight all up.
i have seen some1 else palying it at school but i didnt like it. every1 was making it out to be the like best game in the world. but i didnt think that it was that good.

depends on what type of game u like, in this clan most people i assume would be obviously into games like halo and counter strike source etc, and not really into the games like WoW and guild wars.

Post by: Honey on October 10, 2007, 08:46:04 AM
Yes EQ2 is fun, you have player housing that you can decorate :P oh and you can play a fairy! which was why I played hehe but like all MMORPGs it gets boring fast, especially if you have no one to play with.

At first i thought it was kinda rubbish cause im an EQ2 player and people have arguements over which game is better and which has better graphics etc. but now that i have started playing WoW with BFM_| Taipan, Hlao, Kozmo and Crazy (Still ahve to play with Igor ;D )
it has started to become a fun game when you have people to play and enjoy the game with  ;D

So thank you BFM WoW'ers for so much fun  ;D

I obsessively played two Horde and Alliance characters both up to a little above level 30, but then had a sort of "midleveling crisis". I subsequently stopped playing because I'd decided WoW was a waste of time and money. But I still have slight occasional urges to play it.

yea, but I think I still like playing the original WoW on their servers, its more fun in my opinion, and also, when I got bored with playing my character at level 40, I created a new one and played that toon till I wasnt bored with the first one :P

You sign up on their websites, and change a file in the folders, so the realmlist logs you into their site instead of WoW site

I'm sorry, but why would anyone in their right mind play that game?? First of all, paying $15 a month to play one mmorpg with better graphics isn't really worth it. On top of that, it costs another $50 just to buy the game in the first place. Second. I live with 4 guys that play it and because they each have level 70's, they get quests to do EVERYDAY!!! Also, in their own minds, they think they have to play it everyday because of this.. Also, world of warcraft is all that they pretty much talk about (or atleast one of them does.  In my own eyes and from what I've seen, World of warcraft causes people to give up any social life they could have and escape the real world almost entirely. But that is only if you allow yourself to become addicted to the game. I tried a 10 day trial. Within that time, I went through 2 character profiles: a dwarvin rouge and a night elf warrior. Now because of my obsession with warriors on runescape, I did a better job with the warrior then what I did with the rouge. However, because of how complex the controls are, and how much you have to pay attention to it, I couldn't play very much. If someone were to ask me if World of Warcraft were a good game to start, I will say this.

It's a good game, but I highly suggest that you don't start it.

I reckon the game is awesome I have only got a lv 67 rogue but my brother has 5 lv 70's on it and he has only been playing it for like a year which in my opinion is freaky because he gets up at 6am plays to 8am then when he gets home he plays  it from 4pm till 8:30.

Sadly, people HAVE sold end-game characters for $3000+. In fact, I think someone sold a rogue with the the twin warglaives and ended up getting around $5000 for it.

I can't see how BUYING your character is fun. Especially after you have one with all the equip.
Title: Re: world of warcraft
Post by: Bleach on September 18, 2008, 04:29:45 PM
especially because the entire point of endgame raiding, is just that, to RAID, if you buy a toon, you do not have ANY experience with that class type at all, and you will most likley do MUCH worse then a just turned 70 of the same class, and with all greens, it just seems to me that it takes the fun out of playing the game at all..

btw, I have 1 Human Rogue 70, a 35 priest, and a 40 BE Hunter, I am a really slow leveler :P took me like a year to get one toon to 70

I am a recovering addict from World of Warcraft. Some people can play WoW in moderation, but some live and breathe through the game. I was one of those people that would go for hours on end without rest. My grades and hygene slipped away, and what little fragment of a social life I had dissapeared. I became incredibly depressed and when I finally realized the root of the problem was the incredible deathgrip WoW had on my life I deleted all of my characters and uninstalled the game.

People ask me all the time why I quit and try to coax me back into playing. The television ads seem to do the same. But I know deep in my mind that going down that road again will just lead to sadness.

In the past I've had to borrow my friend's laptop to play WoW on his inet (mine goes on/off) and have had a level 32 Human Priestess on the Gorefiend server.  When I do get over to play on broadband, I switched to the Horde and play on the Laughing Skull server as a level 26+ Tauren Shaman named Makulitko.  Can't wait to get the rest of my new PC components in so that I can actually play Halo PC and WoW in the comfort of my own master bedroom.  :P

I played EQ, City of Heroes, WoW, and LotRO.  Only reason I switched to WOW was because I got deployed and found out my laptop couldn't handle CoH but it played WoW great. I tried LotRO for  two weeks but it was too choppy for me because my system only met minimum requirements.  EQ and WOW both caused my marriage problems.  I loved CoH because you could do short missions solo.  I sometimes think about trying it again or maybe even D&DO but I'm afraid of giving in to that temptation again, specially since the wife and I just brought our second daughter into the world two weeks ago.

Good ol' WoW. Those were the days... running around as a clueless Troll Rogue, trying to level in The Barrens, but got caught up in "The Barrens Chat."

Can't say I was ever addicted... rather had nothing else other to do. I quit when Wrath came out. It was a disappointment with everything changing and getting the nerf bat to just about everything!! I did like Wrath for it's advanced PvP and the environment was unreal. I'd still trade it in for the old Pre-BC any day. :'(

Well, I have been playing for approximately three weeks.  My brother is the one who was petering and pestering, until I finally broke down and bought the Battle Chest.  I have 4 characters right now: Nicappa (14lvl Gnome Fighter (Fury Spec)), Blundergruff (7lvl Tauran Hunter), Enrisi (5lvl Blood Elf Rogue), and HHavoc (5lvl Human Paladin). All on Kargath.

I have played WoW, Guild Wars, and HG:L, and can tell you that Guild Wars was, and still is my favorite. Not just because of the free play, that is a perk, but I feel that GW is more storyline driven than WoW.  The other thing that it, and HG:L, has is the fact that when a player leaves a "hub", they are thrown into their own instance, only other party members show up.  That, I thought was, and is, a great idea.

I will admit.  WoW is very fun, and now that I have been playing it, I see how HUGE it really is.  I still play GW, not as much as I play WoW, as I am awaiting the release of GW2, but my characters still get play their.

I played the 10-day free trial because my friend wanted me to see how great it was.  I have to say, it was great.  But I can't spend $20 a month for the game.  Not when I have a life and education to pursue and fund.  If someone doesn't mind sending money to my PayPal, you can always send it to my PayPal.

I've been thinking about Guild Wars, since there's no subscription.  But again, I really don't want to spend the money because I need to save it for my time at uni.  There's a free MMORPG called Shaiya that I have played in the past.  The graphics aren't that great, but it plays very much like WoW and I have to say its pretty good.  I haven't touched it for a long time, but it is an option for those who don't want to put the money toward one of these more popular games.

My main character is Valee (Here is my armory (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Nordrassil&cn=Valee)) (human paladin, holy main spec (healing spec), and retribution as my offspec (damage spec). I'm thinking of going retribution as my main raiding spec bc my skills at healing have really gone down hill and my dps skill has gone way up

I also have a lvl 80 Death Knight that I hate to play and never log onto it :P

Btw has anyone seen this trailer for "World of Warcraft: Cataclysm"? http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/games/videos/?v=cataclysm:features

of course! there is more than just the trailer, there are tons of Blue Posts on the wow forums about the changes that are coming with Cataclysm, they are changing the game completely. I can't wait. They are doing beta tests soon I think.

the trailer so far is very cheesy with the voice over, but the wrath of the lich king intro movie as well as the burning legion intro is awesome.

I might start playing again in a bit once I get my computer fixed ;D

I used to have both a mage and rogue spec'd so the mage could hit about 8-9k(Ice spec) and the Rogue could hit about 4-5k(Don't remember the spec :P), but its been a couple years.

Awesome if you like RPG.. Mainly MMO's. However, the new set up they came out with.. for the least to say, I dislike it. But, if you have not played before the new update,  you should have no worries. you can also start a free trial for like 7 days or something.
