The game fixes itself you don't have to install any patch its just a security thats added into halo...you just cant getlist for about 10mins then its fine again. Also it will give you a new messege of the day.

With the recent events surrounding Modern Warfare 2, I'm glad to see some companies can get it right!

will the BFM servers work with 1.09 because there seems to be a problem with the CE servers and those with the new update

Patch is only for regular halo and there is no update on CE since its still running on 1.08

any ideas how to get SightJacker to work with this new patch?

Sightjacker still works for CE as its 1.08 but for the time being there is none for halo pc keep checking www.hce.halomaps.org to see if a 1.09 has been released.

SightJacker is a third-party program that allows the person to see the view of another player.
Keep in mind that guests in our servers are not allowed to use SightJacker or any other program like this. Admins are allowed to use this program and some of our admins do use this program to watch other players, but in no means is it used to benefit the admin's gameplay or either team in any way. This is solely for adminning purposes, only.

Some questions seem to be answered already here, but I'll add a few more tidbits:
- The released "patch" is both UNofficial, and BETA - meaning it's not fully tested. However, it "seemed good enough" so was "pushed" via the auto-update feature built into Halo PC. (But then, that's all you're going to get from a 5+-year old video game!)
- 1.09-patched clients ARE SUPPOSED to still operate with 1.08 SERVERS, in addition to any updated, 1.09 servers.
- The patches apply to start-up aspects of the game only, and DO NOT affect gameplay in any way.
- It seems that there may be some conflicts with some configurations having certain Windows XP security updates installed. If you're having problems running the 1.09-patched version try running Windows Update and installing all the latest security updates it recommends.
- This is the first time I've ever seen a video game live through/be supported on FOUR OS releases. (W98SE, XP, Vista, W7)

I'd read somewhere that the patch is for 64bit users only... i assume it holds no detrimental affect for 32bit users? (Other than the loss of sightjacker etc...)
I can hold off updating as long as I use xfire to join games so I think i'll wait for a bit.

Someone, somewhere, misinterpreted the description.
It ADDS SUPPORT FOR 64-bit OSs.

Halo 2.0.4 Software Update (Universal Binary version)
This update will update the 2.0 and 2.0.3 versions of Halo to 2.0.4. Issues addressed in this update:
* Mac Universal Binary build is now in sync with PC version 1.09.
Without this patch the BFM servers didn't show up in the Internet Lobby, probably due to the changes in the Gamespy servers for the PC 1.09 patch, but the 2.0.4 patch fixed this for me.
Đstroyr: maybe it'd be a good idea to update the Subject of this Topic and put the info about the Mac patch in the first post so they're easier to find?

3 years later... I get a new laptop, successfully install 1.08, but not this 1.09 patch. doesn't seem to want to run. Windows extracting all files doesn't seem to help.
Windows 7, 64-bit processor, 8GB ram.
EDIT: Mind, how important is 1.09 anyway? Halo seems to run fine without it.

are you new to windows 7? try right clicking on the icon for halo and run as admin. click yes and once it runs go to multiplayer or where u get the update and it should work. also note its best to run vent and xfire as admins as well do to that they may work properly over halo. i have win7 and i run all programs as admin. including AHK

Fairly new, but I think this is what I had to do a few years back for vista too. Had forgotten it. Thanks Zeek - update installed after three clicks!
