2319 Hours, August 10, 2536 (Military Calendar)/111 Tauri System, Encompassing Absolution

Months had passed since the Prophet of Betrayal had escaped High Charity with the Encompassing Absolution. The search for the home world of the Spartans had been fruitless, so far. Betrayal had narrowly avoided capture and mutiny. While Betrayal would have been more than happy to idly sit around, he knew that in order to continue to live he would had to convince his crew that they were on a real, top secret mission. When passing through slipspace, they had almost encountered another Covenant vessel. Originally, the ship master had ordered his crew to attempt to establish contact with the other ship, but retracted his order at the insistence of utter secrecy by Betrayal.

They had been to three UNSC controlled star systems now, having found nothing to indicate the origins of the Spartans. They had just arrived in the 111 Tauri System after tailing a civilian frigate through slipspace. They had used their more advanced technology to scan the communication signals used by the UNSC. Big brother was listening to anything and everything in it's "audible" range. Suddenly, a confused look found it's way onto the face of an elite. "Sensors have detected a strangely encrypted message, your excellency." One crew member piped up.

Kako strode over to his subordinate's station. "Hrm...." Kako's hands took over the controls, his fingers twisting and moving the symbols in a flash of his speed. Suddenly, a human voice filled the room as the translation came to life.

"As is known throughout our organization, the discovery of the Covenant and
their plans to wipe out humanity have weakened us. Our numbers have fallen
not only due to the UNSC's attacks against us, but also due to the fear of having
no tomorrow.

Well, hear me now and hear me well. Living under the tyrannical rule of the
UNSC is even worse than dying against the Covenant. At least the Covenant
don't intend to enslave us. They are more humane, despite being alien! We must
unite against the UNSC should we have any hope of freedom. Recent activities
have raised some suspicion amongst ONI, according to our intel. We've since
redirected our energies elsewhere and have begun our plans for our next
response to the UNSC. There have been several colonies that serve as good
candidates to aid our cause, but Mamore seems to stand out just a bit more
than the rest.  I am requesting a vote amongst the twelve of you. You have five
 days to make your response.

Remember to use encryption type gamma.

Kako's hands once again flew across station's screens. The message temporarily froze. There would be no way to review it, no way to keep it from it's self-destruction. "Do not touch these controls. The Prophet must be notified of this transmission. I will return shortly, until then standby." Kako quickly strode out of the room and made his way to the Prophet's quarters and was promptly stopped, searched, and stripped of his weapons by two honor guards.

Once he was deemed "not a threat" the elite entered the room. "Your holiness, I apologize for disturbing you however a most disturbing message has been intercepted. It seems as though a rift exists amongst the humans." Kako quickly explained, still bowed before the Prophet.

The Prophet paused for a moment before speaking. "Then we shall exploit this rift, make this fissure a canyon, and weaken all of humanity." the Prophet decided. "The enemy of an enemy is not your friend, but a temporary ally nonetheless. Find the origin of the transmission then make preparations to venture to that location. Now leave me, I must think." The Prophet grabbed at his chin as he rotated in midair. Perhaps our suicidal mission was unavoidable. Even so, we can still only depend on ourselves to complete it. But how to go about gaining the trust of these humans....

"Understood your excellency." Kako backed out of the room before standing completely upright. He hurriedly gathered his things from the guards and made his way back to the command post of his ship. There was so much to do now, something for which Kako was extremely thankful. His previous feelings of idleness threatened to tear him apart and ensure his insanity. Now, there was an something that he felt he could work towards, something for which to strive. He would guarantee that his crew was ready for whatever the Prophet asked of them and whenever the Prophet asked of it.

Being a good racer in Halo isn't just about getting the best times. You have to know where your teammates and enemies are, and most of all... how to be crafty! XD -nods-

Oh... and "v.v" = sad face.
