So what do you think is the all-time best and/or most-fun weapon ever conceived of in a video game before?
In terms of the most fun weapon ever, there is no question in my mind that has to be the "Lancer" assault rifle with a *chainsaw* on it from Gears of War. Nothing better than having the "melee" option of sawing your enemy in half straight down the middle. It never gets boring :evil:
The old-school answer to most damaging weapon would be the spell "tiltowait" in the Wizardry series. That did ~100 hit points of damage to each character in your gorup. That was big back in those early days.
I'm sure lots of you have an opinion on this topic...

To be honest I'm happy with the pistol from Halo 1 :D.
But in all seriousness, I would have to say... the Golden Gun from Golden Eye 007 on Nintendo 64. Classic.

The Pandora from Devil May Cry 4. It looks like a slightly demonic suitcase, ut turns into a gatling gun, a tribarrel bazooka, a RPG firing bow gun, a three bladed glaive, a Laser, and a flying missile turret. Talk about fun!

I have a few favourites:
- The sniper rifle used by CMT (On Halo CE maps, such as Snow Grove)
- The Kamikaze button from the Worms games.
- And the good old Melee button! d_b

I would have to say Weaponization from the Incredible Hulk: Ultimate destruction, because A.) You're the Hulk, and he's pretty much a living weapon that can yell at you, and B.) Weaponization allows you to pretty much use anything in your environment as a weapon. Like for a burger restraunt, you can destroy the sign and grab the big hamburger on it, and then use said hamburger as a bowling ball to strike out your enemies! Can anyone say "hulk-size me?" :P Oh, and you can turn a car into steel boxing gloves, use lamp posts as spears, catch missiles and throw them right back at the guy who shot them, even use your enemies as weapons! And my personal favorite, the shield maneuver where you crush big trucks and buses into nice big shields that you grind on like a skate board to cause mass chaos and you can throw the sheild at enemies like a boomerang and it'll come right back to you so you can bash them in the face again! Ah, hulk's incredible power sure is satisfying sometimes...

Ok, I have two better ones, but from Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner. The first is the mini-missiles. Your Orbital Frame raises it's hand high a a row of missiles appear behind you like wings, the frame then lowers it's hand and they streak foreward like the hand of destruction itself and clear every enemy off the screen practically.
The second is the Vector Cannon, and frankly, this needs to be seen to believed.

Sadly the player didn't rotate the veiw so you could see everything that was being built, but still...

The Hulk's weaponization mode sounds fun! I gotta look around for that game just for that.

Well, the best in-game weapon of all time for me is the one that allows me to dance gracefully through a sea of blaster-wielding stormtroopers while blithely bouncing their shots back at them and slicing off major body parts.

Megaman's MegaBuster. Semi-automatic, no reload time, no dead battery, superfast speeds, can supercharge into a devastating attack, compatible with busters from enemies, (not to mention very annoying while playing against my lil sis), and you don't have to worry about it being knocked out of your hands!

Samus's weapon from Metroid Prime! It can do a lot of stuff and there's no reloading - just fires as fast as you can press 'a' or whatever button it may be.
My favorite mode for this gun is what they call "super missiles"

remember quake II? and the rockets? :D
yea that doesnt come close to the hyper blaster xD that gun shredded. 20 health per shot. 3 rounds/sec and 200 ammo. it was the most epic shredding gun.
BUT: most powerful weapon?
without a doubt its the Armageddon option in worms world party.
big open map with HUGE landmasses gets turned into small rubble islands with just 1 of these. you will be lucky if even 1 worm is left on the field, let alone alive.
also another fun weapon is the baseball bat when you hit people over the water in worms :D WHEEEEE and you get the home run sound xD
but the overall weapon of mass killing with highest accuracy? Pistol from halo 1 OR the Scrin's warships and carriers on C&C 3 o.O

leonhart sword from FFVIII, propa killa's weapon, love to hit some idiots around were i live with it, coincedentally looks like an energy sword from halo 2 when its fully upgrade, has the same glowing color, its also a gun and sword put together so you can slice and pop someone at the same time WOOH YEAH!

For a seond I thought you meant the Topsy-turvy bomb from Armed and Dangerous. Now that was a weapon, stick this giant Corksrew thing into the ground and hang on as everything gets turned upside down and the enemies fall into the sky. When it deactivates they all fall back down the a satisfying "PLOP!".

Ah yes, the Vindaloo launcher, comes in regular and extra spicey...
Though, I also really liked the portable black hole. Nothing like kicking a cardboard box out to have it erupt into a small gravitational singluarity.

It goes right through the ground and hits the worm on the other side and blasts it into the ocean :neckbeard:. but most powerful would have to be 'The Nuke Mod' on the halo demo

(Note that before that, it was an almost-solid terrain, with a small cave to sit the firing worm in.

I'll take a shotgun in Chaos Gulch anyday!
FYI: It's in Halo CE...for those that don't know, it shoots a shotgun-like burst of plasma. Basically...multiply a single Fuel Rod Cannon shot by...oh...100? And that's the shotgun in Chaos Gulch.
Here's what happens when you point the thing @ the ground and pull the trigger:

I don't know, there was a mod in unreal tournement that had a weapon that was a baby doll (even said "mama") that would walk around slowly, before erupting as a mini-nuke.
Now THAT'S a weapon.

I must say i did love the chainsaw that was mounted on the gun in gears of war but im still going to have to go with the hidden wristblade from assassins creed, Love it :love:

that one's tough. But my pic is from a VERY old game
The game is called Brave Fencer Musashi. In the game, you can "steal" one power at any time, and the best power is called 3-way.
When you get, it lets you fire a rapid, 3 way spread shot of energy that causes 70 damage per bullet (thats alot for this game)
you can kill the biggest enymy (not boss) in the game in less then 2 seconds using this. Only down side is it takes A LOT of energy. Good news though, the place you can get it has A LOT of energy restoring objects.

I would have to say my favorite weapon in a game was in god of war on Ps2. Those chains were just awesome to start and just got better as the game goes on. Loved that game. Then I would have to say I am probably the best in game weapon. ;D

Omega cannon-Metriod prime:hunters
Gravity gun-half-life
Armaggedon-worms world party
and plasma wisp's charged attack in Kirby's funpak.
Blue shell:hits nomatter what and explodes
Omega cannon:can not be described in mere words. look it up on Utube
Charge attack: It fires a big ball of energy that obliterates EVERYTHING in its path

Mod for Unreal Tournament. It's a Baby doll, that walks around and explodes as a mini nuke, all the time going "Momma, momma".
Second to that is another mod that when you fire the REdeemer mini nuke, Marvin the Martian says "Where's the kaboom, there was supposed to be an Earth Shattering Kaboom!"

I'm sure it's been said plenty of times before, but the classic pistol in Halo
Oh, and the Particle beam rifle from F.E.A.R. Nothing like blasting an enemy and leaving nothing but his burning skeleton behind :swoon: that or the penetrator/nailgun that can nail enemie's bodies to the wall...need I say more?

On the topic of Goldeneye 007, I have to disagree with the GOLDEN gun...1 shot...then reload...too slow for my likes! Instead...activate some cheats, and get your hands on the Silver PP7, it still kills in one shot, and can also shoot through thin walls and multiple enemies. Lovely little toy. :)
Other than that, I love me the SHOTGUN in Halo (see sigs) paired with a sniper rifle. I was part of the long dead OSK clan (One Shot Kill) so I know how to use a sniper rifle effectively, as well as the shotgun if enemies dare get close enough! :muah:

Ah, I forgot about the reload. Still, you could shoot someone toenail and they are gone. Halos shotgun is up there also.

I would have to say the dark energy gravity gun from the very end of Half Life 2 and the very beginning of Half life 2 episode 1.
What's more fun than grabbing floating energy balls and shooting them at the baddies to disentegrate said baddies? Oh, and the dark energy Gravity gun can also grab and blast enemies without you having to grab an object first, killing the poor saps instantly and making the path in front of you clear. Ah, Half Life is teh awesomeness :swoon:

My favorite weapons happen to be from the Legend of Zelda series.
1.) The Hook Shot (and Long Shot)
2.) Biggoron's Sword.
its a great combo, you stun with the Hook Shot and finish with Biggoron's sword. Stalfoes have no chace! :XD:

The Railgun from Red Faction - allows you to see your enemy through the walls, then shoot them when they stop / keep walking in a straight line. Brilliant.
I especially loved it when you used the rocket launcher to blow a whole in the wall so they couldn't see you. You hide in the wall and just pick the people running around madly off.
Equally fun is attaching a mine to the heads of people...

but the best by far was an unlockable weapon from a 64 game called body harvest. the weapon was called the "lightning gun" and basicly, it shoots a lghtning bolt at an enemy, getting an instant kill. best weapon eva.

Halo Reach's fuel rod. Its what makes those grunts such an opposable force..
Six shots in one clip(I think), and a one hit kill, its an AWESOME WEAPON in all modes

all i can say... is the Plasma Grenades on Halo 1.... actually set the detonation time to 0, so it would never explode...
Funny as anything ladies and gents, especially as you stick them to Sergeant Johnson or the grunts... just to watch them run around screaming.
