almost time just 5 more hoers till midnight and the stores can officaly release it i got it prorderd and the eb games by my house is gona be open from midnight to 3am toonight just for the release of halo 3 and since i alredy preorderd it i dont gota wait in a line to buy it :yesyes:

My older boy (Imperion) has been playing it for a couple of months now on the XBox. He spent most of his time trying to get places that were seemingly impossible to get to. I've played it a bit myself, but I find it too much like Halo 2 (with better graphics), and I'm not a fan of H2.
I like the man cannons.
I like the friend/foe player tags.
I like the graphics, textures and sounds.
I don't like the laser canon (too powerful)
I'm a little iffy on the scrim.

My brother and his friends left college this afternoon. They brought a grill and lawn chairs tents etc and are camping outside of GameStop waiting for the release.

i palyed it yesterday. awsome graphics, awsome game play, Sweet new wepons and cars.
its cool how you can use the turrent and then rip it off and carry it around =)
the only real bad thing is there isnt any health so as soon as your shield goes down you ahve to run for cover or else if u get shot a couple more times you get killed really easy...
gets really fustrating.

played it and i love the mulit player map narrows. best thing with the man cannons. both jump in opposite ones and hit each other in mid air.
PS try throwing plasms in them when people fly at you. they stick, so cool

Beat the game already, its AWESOME! :) But it was a bit short though..

YES! Race mod lives!
Dunno details regarding use of the full realm of all the new vehicles is, but I DO know that the Race mod does NOT contain the tracking RL (by default, suppose it can probably be added tho), only the "normal, dumb RL" so that drawback from Halo 2 was corrected.
Didn't pay it enough to know much, just to check its exsitence, was all. (The kids in the room wanted to get back to playing with the gravity gun and the portable overshields!... :LOL: :LOL: Note: Do NOT fire the gravity gun INSIDE the portable overshield! Well, okay, DO try it a few times, cuzza it's HILARIOUS!)

months? beta tester? leaked version? different game? cuz as far as i know, halo 3 is only out on the xbox 360 as of a few days ago.....unless i am wrong and it came out for pc a few days ago, but i'm 90% positive that it only came out for xbox, and it wasn't months ago :P

this is true it has not bean publiccly relsead to a few days ago the version he is speaking of is most likely the beta if not hes probly talking abought a leaked copy or just getings faqs off internet and no it has not be released on originol xbox and never will and will be releaced to the pc eventualy :diespam: :diespam: :diespam: :diespam: :diespam: :diespam:

It was the Halo 3 Beta on XBox 360.
I thought we had it for a couple of months, but I've since been corrected -- the trial lasted 30 days.
I'm in the software biz, so the rule around here is "legal all the way".
We now have 2 versions, one with a helmet (for the dog? or perhaps a really small person?), one without. Imperion (my oldest boy) got through the game in about 6 steady hours the day he bought it. He's now working through it on Legendary, but the going is a lot tougher. He thinks the H3 storyline is the best so far, and cooperative campaign is a slick feature.

Hey all, I beat the game on normal now about to beat it on heroic..then I will tackle legendary. Great game ..but dont like the flashback stuff. Im told there are different endings on the different levels. We shall see. Hope you all are doing well, see you on the road..

The question still outstanding is: Is there race?
I don't see race as a game type. Under Custom types maybe a game can be set up. Mr. Mxy seems to think there is.
I have looked briefly at this and don't know what the settings might be. I will continue the search....
However Burnout revenge is awesome! Driving a hog after playing Burnout makes for a slow motion gaming.

I was looking at the 'Bungie Favorites' and there is a Race game type listed, but it seems like a variation of VIP.

Well from what I can pick up from the boards it appears that you can set up VIP to be a form of race (or run like crazy to stay alive). Not sure how to set nav points. It appears that teams (2-8) could support 2-16 players. An interesting twist.
More vehicles!!!
Hopefully Kickn and any others that are interested will join us in testing forge and race.
The learning curve begins!
By the way forge is the new map editing tool and it appears to be reasonably easy to use. Sharing maps, I'm not clear how this will work.

And in Forge when you go to edit stuff, you become a Monitor..... thankfully no annoying humming.
Added you to my list, BTW, need to get 4 people together so we can go through story mode on Legendary.
BTW, imagine being on the receiving end of the German invasion of France.... both times. That's Legendary.

Last night my son (Imperion) beat H3 on Legendary. The final trailer is a bit different -- wait 'till its completely finished.

I beat it on heroic, same ending. Ive got to get my son to help me on legendary. I dont know how many times I ran out of ammo fighting on heroic. I had to melee my way to finish. I actually melee(d?) a hunter.

I saw threads on other forums that suggest that it will be out on PC soon. Anyone know more about it? Also heard that PC users will be able to play xbox users, true?

Probably won't be out for another 3 years, with Halo's 1 & 2 PC version being good examples. As for being compatible with live users, probably not also. As I've seen Live will remain seperate from PC networks, partially because of the technology, but also because of network security.

Ive only done it on Easy so far, just to wizz through and get the story mostly but even then it was intense, especially the last stretch with the hog (WOW! they really elaborated from the first game there eh! lol). The game is truly amazing! But I still want it on PC...
So, Normal next, or Coop Legendary. Oh, btw how do you do it? lol. Can u only start coop with friends or is there someway to just join in one? Zis noob aint figured it out yet. Im getting lost in all the new names for things on the menu screens.

There is no race gametype, per se, but you can set up a version of VIP with checkpoints. In Forge, you edit the VIP game type and add the check points. It's not quite the same, though. You can't do laps, only a single series of checkpoints. Forge limits you to how many checkpoints you can place (and it's pretty small, like 8 for Sandtrap). Forge also has a lot of goofy limits on equipment and weapons that make creating something to your vision quite difficult.
The biggest problem, though, is that each map will be a custom game that you have to organize with your friends... there are no server lists or hosted game lists or public matchmaking lists for custom games.
The rockets don't track, but watch out for missile pods... the missiles DO track. Just don't put any in your custom game. Also, plasma pistols will stop vehicles for a few seconds... so they're good for hog jacking.
You can do campaign in co-op with friends, but you have to arrange to meet online and join together. The co-op has settings to where friends can join at will or by invitation only. You can organize a party for campaign or to play matchmaking together. Social doubles is fun... you and a friend can make a party and take on other pairs.

I know this is a old topic :P But can't be bothered to start a new one XD
I bought a 360 just for halo 3, So I decided to use all the trials/demos of xbox live because I had no money left for xbox live. So I first used the 2 day free trial that came with halo, and beat the game on legendary (Normal on first day, Legendary on second). I got most of the skulls, didn't really play multiplayer though. And then after the 2 days I was going to use the 1 month trial that came with my xbox 360. Only bad thing is that I have to create a new account to use it, So I created the account "TexasMd91". Beat it on legendary, got all the skulls, got to lvl 40 lone wolf, got 950 gamer points (to lazy to get the 5 other camaign scoring mode achievements. And then that month ran out.
So I used a second free xbox live trial (360's come with 3 of them) And made the account "Grnts R Us" (After the site gruntsrus.com I am admin of), I decided to have fun. So I didn't play 1 campaign mission and only do multiplayer. I also decided that I would go to social games and quit them to lose all my xp to stay at 0 xp. So I got like lvl 32 team slayer (Hate it, I liked lone wolf more) so I was a recruit and level 32 team slayer (Every 1 called me a hacker)
The month ran out and just 3 days ago I made a new account. sp0rts2o9 (Made the o betwen the 2 and 9 capital so it looks like sp0rts2O9). This account I will try and get all 1000 achievements in 1 month. I named it after my friends accounts.
There is now these accounts (We are all friends and play together)

Best part is that we all are same color, same emblem, same perms, etc. and plus the O's look like 0's in xbox live so it looks like we are all 100% the same lol.
When christmas comes along, I will be putting xbox live on my account "TexasMd91" (Since it was a commander when it ran out and has almost everything done).

I gots a 360 now!!! ;D and Halo 3!!!! ;D I'll be getting xbox live as soon as my parents figure out to rearrange it to be hooked up to the internet, but my account is named Castaway, so keep an eye out for me :D

Im same as ben. Came back to H1. Infact i was in mid consideration of selling my 360 (along with h3) as i just never play on it. However i recently learned of the USB mouse n keyboard for the console so that rejection went on hiatus. ;D

3.4 hours to beat halo 3
the NPC are a load of think idiots driving into any obstacle and then nading and shooting MC for no apparent reason
some of the vehicles are about as useful as a cupcake
what on EARTH did they do to the scarab!?
it seems to like blasting bright light at you. its very irritating
the NPC is worse than the Halo 2 one

lvl 8 is a nightmare
what on earth is wrong with the shields!? you take 4 hits and they are gone. its impossible to run in all guns blazing now

im unimpressed with the game
UNTIL: i found infection mode
300% sped 50% gravity is a riot of a laugh. possibly the most fun i have had in years.

that is really good, but im not very good with swords or hammers, all my mates call me a sniper nerd lol.
Who bought the heroic map packs, i did, standoff is a great map, the new blood gulch i think. :)
