Upgraded to windows 7, having a problem...
« on: November 07, 2009, 04:22:28 PM »
I kinda expected this to happen, but when I installed Windows Vista over Windows XP, I was still able to get to the "Documents and Settings" folder on the C drive. But now that I installed over Vista with 7, it is giving me permission problems, telling me that access is denied to that folder.

Does anyone know how I can get past this?   Thanks!

Well I guess you know to look for the windows.old folder. I'm thinking you might have to go to Control Panel->User Accounts->"Change User Account Control Settings", then change permissions so you have more control, I have it at the 3rd one down.

But I don't really see why this would block you from accessing that folder, restart computer if you havn't. And make sure your on the administrator account.
