I noticed last night that when I hit f1 to try to see the scores while playing halo nothing happened. The key board itself I got as a Christmas present. f1 seems to be the only key that is not working. I am not very computer literate and I do not know of any way to check to see if I have a computer or keyboard problem if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Faulty Key on keyboard that is all i can think of

F1 usually brings up "Windoze Help" when you press it outside of any programs.
You can also open up NotePad or some other word editor program and then press the F1 key. It should bring up the appropriately named help file for that program.
As far as I know, that key is not a standard customizable key on most programmable keyboards...but, if all the other keys work fine, I would suspect the keyboard, not the computer itself.

Thanks guys
I guess for now I will just play without the f1 key. Cant I change what key brings up the scores in the halo settings? I think I will see when I get home. Ne ways thanks again

Try switching your view scores key to something else.
For ex. TAB key works very well to view scores.
-
yeah I will try it. I don't need the stupid f1 key any way >:(lol. Thanks for replying tanger as always
-
Yeah not a problem
I never liked F1 anyways. TAB you can hit and keep controlling the hog well. Read scores while u race :P

NOTE: Check if you <F1> key works within Windows before you write it off as busted!
Why? Well the other day one of the servers made a couple of our "S" keys not work for in-game chat! (The key worked fine for moving backwards, tho!?!)
When I exitted the gasme and restarted it it worked fine!
(So something may be messed up IN HALO, not in your keybopard, you see!!)

Is it just F1 that's not working, and all the other F keys work?
There's a feature on my keyboard (a wireless Micro$oft one) that has "alternative features" for all the F keys, for example "undo", "open", "reply" (none of which work), but these require "F Lock" to be switched off, disabling the function keys' usual actions.
Example: PrtScn and Insert share the same key. But Insert is on the front of the key, while PrtScn is on the top. This means that when F Lock is on, the key acts as an Insert key, but when off, it acts as PrtScn (meaning that I often forget to turn "F Lock" back on after taking a screenshot, and then wonder why F1 doesn't work for showing scores)
So, check your keyboard for anything like this.
Just a thought.
