Well here's to the start of the college application road. As far as I am concerned these things are important (even though most of my teachers say they aren't) and necessary for some scholarships. We have a review lesson tomorrow (got no school today, thank you Columbus :) ) and take the tests all of Wednesday.
As far as I know I think the rest of the US is taking them at the same time?
I'll let you know my scores when they come win, wish me luck :winkgrin:
*EDIT* should of put this up too...I got a 1620 (520 reading and writing, 580 math) when I took them sophomore year (last year) but that was going into it blind so hopefully I'll do better this time around

I'm taking it on wednesday also. Except, at our school, you have to pay $13 to take it. Lol.. :P Good luck, and I'll put my scores in here when I find out.

In Illinois, because they used the ACT in their standardized tests, we got to take the ACT for free (paid for by the school I think; Illinois is too cheap to pay for it themselves). I got a 29 on that, which is around a 1920 SAT.
Take the SAT tests as many times as you want. Generally, the more times you take a test of any kind, the better your score will be with each successive retake. I think the SAT has only 5 dates per year? The ACT has around 9.
ACT lets you take your highest score within a 2-year period and send that off to the colleges. I'm not sure what the SAT does, but I would assume they'd let you take your highest score as well.
Many colleges will need at least 18 ACT/1300 SAT before they will even take your application. Some colleges require more, depending on its prestige and standards. Make sure whatever schools you're looking at will accept your score. At 1620, you'll probably be able to get into most schools. But that was your sophomore year, right? You still have 2 more years to get that score up. So don't sweat it, and you'll do fine.

Last year, I had it on Wednesday, but now, as a junior, I am taking it on Saturday. I hope I do well and get a scholarship lol.

I didn't do that great on the PSATs. If I had, I would have been a National Merit Scholarship Qualifier, but meh. Anyways, my first SAT score was 220 better than my PSAT, and I expect this next one to hopefully be 330 better than my SAT. Blah, 9 days.
I got a 33 on the ACT, although Colorado is dumb and doesn't include the writing in it because they're cheap, so it doesn't count for a lot of the schools I'd go to (if not all).

Well just got out of em...not bad at all actually. I'm sure I did awesome on the math section, I knew 95% of it without much trouble. The critical reading was an issue as always, I left a few blank because it was confusing sometimes trying to figure out what they were asking. The writing section wasn't too too bad, although it isn't my strong point, but I still think I did well overall
Now I gotta wait til December to get the results back... ::)
