um... you DO NOT want to do that!

The ADVANTAGE of having stereo gameplay AND music playing in your headset will be gone, and actually - you don't know this yet - but VERY ANNOYING, TOO.

Is there some reason you're not simply playing them BOTH and letting them mix in stereo?!?!

I do it all the time!  (Listen to/watch TV on second monitor while playting Halo on main monitor!  :P )

Kay then, you do what i do.
Listen to iTunes, while doing EVERYTHING.

The only solution i have is...

If your Mic/Headset is USB start up iTunes BEFORE you plug in your headset, and allow the msuic to flow through your speakers.
Then plug in your Headset and start-up Vent.
Viola.

Music through Speakers, Peoples Through Vent.

But if your Headset Isn't USB then......

Its very annoying I played/listened to music on one side for about 2 days when waiting on a headset. It drove me crazy! Never do it!! lol

Thats my opinion ;D

Or, you can also get a mixer.  I have one so I can have 3 inputs (8 total on the mixer), main PC for Halo, iPod for music, laptop for VoIP calls.  Works great, and I can change the volume/mute each one individually.  Probably a bit expensive, just for what you want... :)  However, since each input has a left/right knob, you could move the Halo to one side, and music to the other.

What i do is, turn my Halo Down to about 1 of each (In the settings) So i can hear near by hogs, Shootings, sniping and Grenades, Etc and put my music to where i can hear it faintly and vent over that :D Do it all the time.

in Halo: Settings -> Audio Setup

Master, Effects, and Music Volume settings

(You can get to these in-game via the <ESCAPE> key -> Change Settings -> Audio Setup ....)

Note that these settings GO WITH THAT PROFILE, so will be different in EACH PROFILE YOU USE.
