Welcome to the System Requirements Lab! (http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest)
I found this groovy gadget on the net. If you ever wonder whether you computer will be able to run a particular game, you can check it with this. It simply scans your computer's specifications and compares them to the minimum and recommended specs for the game. All it requires is that you enable an ActiveX control to use it.
I find it is really useful to test whether your machine will be able to run a game you are thinking of buying and trying out. This way you don't need to remember the specs of your machine, or of the game, you can just scan, and it compares it for you and gives you a nice readout!
I hope its useful!
-
It's not completly accurate but yeah. It is pretty good.
-
I failed for Halo 2.
CPU and CPU Speed I passed.
RAM, Operating System and Video Card I failed. :P
-
Lol! I tested to see if I could run regular Halo on my computer, and it failed on both the minimum and required. ;D I'm getting a laptop soon though, I hope.
-
Cool, it's pretty accurate for me. I bookmarked it for future use. d_b
-
Knight posted this around 4-5 months ago on the old forums...:D
ANd I posted it in a thread about 2 weeks ago. =/
Its purdy cool :D
-
Stickey?
-
I think it would probably be worthwhile, especially if others before have referenced or posted it, as it is a really easy to use, simple and effective tool.
-
nice find exodus. ill use it heaps now. cause i usually am always looking for a new game to play ;D
-
OMG, I failed the regular Halo.
Everything was good except the video card. (I hate Dell...)
733MHz is the minimum to run Halo?? Wow.. I have 2.79 GHz
-
I can run COD 4 Modern Warfare PC... But I failed because I need a new hard drive which I am aware of.
It's getting quite crammed in the one I have now ;D
-
lol i failed for halo 2
but also failed for halo normal...
its funny i play halo and no problems about it (only the flashing beams but they disapeared and appear often)
-
im fine for reg halo... but my computers brains cant handle halo 2  ah, well, neat program... im gonna use it to find a new game my comp will run! :neckbeard:
-
Hmm, when I get home I'm gonna run it to see how bad my computer will fail at trying to run crysis :XD:
Minimum requirements:a really big amount of RAM and other important stuff
Your computer:-2 Ram :P

If this is correct, then my computer is fine for halo and it is my dodgey Australian internet that is making me laggy laggy.
Silly K-RUDD .... when will he get us our national broadband?? :bang:
-

More likely the long distance between you and the server.
And, and FYI, my PC is well over the min specs for Halo, but I get lag. That's 10-year-old technology on a 6-year-old motherboard for you :|
-
lols.. i pass the min reqs for halo.. failed for halo2.. need more ram.. :P
-
As I'd hoped, my new gaming rig (http://www.bfmracing.net/forums/index.php/topic,9512.msg105433.html#msg105433) passed everything I have/play at the "Recommended configuration" level!
:yesyes:
Oddly tho, when I tried Crysis - which I neither have nor play - just to check my system out versus the most demanding game out there, I failed the "Recommended" due to lack of video RAM (wanted 640MB, I have 512MB... times two!), DESPITE my running in SLi mode for the tests!
I'm guessing their system does not yet know how to deal with this new technology, so if you're running SLi mode, keep that in mind when you run their checks....
P.S. I KNOW that the video memory gets ganged together in SLi mode, as I ran one of my games in "test mode" that produced loads of stats, and it reported the 1GB video RAM was available and being used by the game....
-
My video card could use some work. Passed the minimum, but usually always fails the recommended. All my other stuff looks pretty nice though.
-
I failed for Halo 2.
CPU and CPU Speed I passed.
RAM, Operating System and Video Card I failed. :P
Don't worry 'bout that. Halo 2 is a joke.

??? I don't have it, my brother does, and I sometimes watch... Halo two is awsome... not sure who told you it was a joke! :interesting: :interesting:

LOL, I just found out that my computer apparantly fails the minimum requirements for Halo :P That's funny because I never have any lag while playing with all video settings turned up, and the thing that made me fail the minimum was the video card :P Seems like mine needs to have something called Video HW Transform & Lighting and it is required :P I HAVE noticed that my shadows are a little strangely colored (i.e. I have no problem seeing in the dark ingame because the shadows are dark red instead of black :P)

If it's barley meeting there is a chance you'll be getting bad FPS, which people often think is lag.
-
Oh yeah, for minimum, it's only failing cause my video card is incapable of doing ONE thing :P other than that, Halo on this computer is golden :swoon:

Noooo! The site is down! I need to see what I need to upgrade so my sister can play Halo on her own computer...
-
Yh ive used this before... it says that i cant run call of duty 4 but i can :)
But yes it does give you a good outline of what your comp should run or not... Theres nothing worse then bying a game and then installing it and it doesnt work

:woot:
-
I will end up using this site a bunch of times in the future. However, it does not seem to like Windows 7, since it even fails me on Halo 1 PC due to this OS. *laughs*
If the graphics card looks good on the checklist, then I guess the game will run alright most of the time. =]

lol according to Can You Run It my computer can play Crysis, CoD:MW2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 at full settings, however it cant play CoD4 and Halo :D. It says Windows 7 isnt supported, however I can play them. I wouldn't trust Can You Run It to much guys.

My Graphic card has 640 MB not 4 GB....
And i can run Crysis but far from full graphic.
-
Nemi, you have a video card with hypermemory capability. Hypermemory means that your graphics card CAN draw from your main system RAM on your motherboard if it needs to, and this fact has showed up on your system test. Newer video cards have dedicated GPU memory that is directly on the graphics card. Your particular graphics card seems to have a 512 MB chunk of memory. That is the memory that is most important to graphics processing in your system, that 512 MB that is directly on your GPU graphics card. When the graphics card refers to system RAM, that is always slower than using memory that is already on the card, although it is technically available to help things speed up if your GPU's memory is not sufficient. I have a 256 MB hypermemory RADEON X600 series video card, and it registers well over 1 GB on that website as well. Still, I cannot wait until my 512 MB GeForce 8600 card comes by UPS next week! =]

although it had everything ticked apart from my os, which is windows 7 haha
-
Ive used this a lot myself, however the results may say your PC is a fail, just check what it says is wrong like it says on some games my Graphics card doesn't meet the requirements yet i have as much Ram, Shader version ETC needed
-
Required You Have
Video RAM 256 MB 1.6 GB
3D Yes Yes
Hardware T&L Yes Yes
Pixel Shader version 3.0 4.0
Vertex Shader version 3.0 4.0
ooo Yay =] Cod 4, WOW, halo 1 & 2. =] All passes.
-
so it just said i could play red alert 3 uprising yet without grpahics, yet then it states that i have all the req for the graphics.......
-
not accurate at all i tested on my older xps one and it said i have 1004 mb video card where i have a 256 and it said i can run crysis on recomened settings where on low for me i get only 6 FPS at maxs........oh how i wish my xps 9000 was back from dell why did it break?????
-
 wish i would've known about this sooner before i bought spore. i had to buy a $150 graphics card oh well lol
-
Wait.. 150$?! For SPORE?WOWWWWW, i have a nvidia GeForce 6150, and SPORE runs fine (:
