There should be a music volume option in the (Sound) Options Menu if the game designers knew what they were doing. :P

You can turn off all the music by changing the name of the Miles folder.

Right click the shortcut, go to Open File Location, add a letter to the file called "miles" (called mine "Smiles" :P). No more music.

It's very quiet in game like that, but it seems like the music always starts up at the worst times, like right when you're the last person or when the time is about to run out and you're running around.

BE careful messing with the miles folder. If you dont know what your doing you can cause yourself problems. Disabling miles will get you kicked from some servers. There is a way to turn the volume down. I will take a look when I get home and get with you.

I found that I never heard any music ever... I checked via console command record of all things that happen when i start up, I found that there is an issue with my loading of miles folder so I have never gotten music and such ambient noises. Due to it being a tech issue with the folder itself I've never been kicked from any servers. Its interesting how unintentional errors seem to work out.

found many ref for miles files and most are the same.
 found this one at http://www.cod4central.com...
Turning off the in game music (PC version) - To disable the music in the game (in case you want to listen to your own), browse to your COD4 folder, (something like "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare") and rename the "Miles" folder to "MilesMUSICOFF". This way the music will be disabled in the game. If you ever want the music back, just rename the folder back to "Miles".

I wont touch it until i hear from someone that know more than me lol.

I don't wanna turn it off... I just wanna turn it down :(. It's like half the time I can't hear people in the campaign cause the music seems to get louder when people talk.. the game says "oooooh someones talking, lets TURN IT UP!!!!!!!!"
