Title: (PLZ Help) Microphone Settings?
Post by: Liam on September 29, 2009, 04:40:11 PM
Ok, this is new and I'm pretty sure it never happened before, but when I turn my mic on, whatever it picks up is projected back into my headphones, this happens not only when I'm using vent, but on my desktop too. Is there any settings that would disable this?

Also, it doesn't appear to be projecting through my speakers, except, when I turn them up loud, I get really bad feedback.

So ya, any help would be greatly appreciated  ;D

'Never happened before, eh?

Try checking this (http://www.bfmracing.net/forums/index.php?topic=753.msg35332#msg35332), where it says "If you're getting unwanted echo."

You can scan through the thread looking for yellow headlines to find answers to all kinds of Ventrilo-related problems and hints.

Sounds like you have your sound settings for your mic on.  Go to the speaker icon at the bottom left, double-click it and that will bring up your master volume control.  From there, go to Options -> Properties, and then at the bottom check Mic Volume.  That will bring up the mixer for the mic.  Exit out of that window and you can tweak with the Mic Volume so that you don't hear yourself.

Though if you can't hear yourself, how do you know what you're saying? ::)

Never mind, just do what Mxy suggested.
