Razer Carcharias Headset
« on: February 12, 2010, 03:33:48 PM »
I just bought a Razer Carcharias Headset, and the mic is having problems. I tested it out with Edison, and he said it is extremely quiet and he can hear the sound playing in my headphones. Anybody know how to help? I am also using Vista 64bit (<--- Ewww...I know)

People have had this problem before.

I think they ask if you're plugging it into a front jack, which is a no-no. Plug it into the back if it's not already.

;D

I have tried to plug it in the back, but when I plug it in Vista says "Microphone - Not Plugged In"  but when I unplug it, it says "Microphone - Working." I find that weird because there is no internal mic. I am using an onboard Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio. I have tried to update the drivers also.

Go to this post, scroll down to the section that starts:

[New!: Read this also if you can't get your mic to get loud enough to be heard! Follow the same instructions, but do the text in GREEN instead....]

and do that.

If it's not there, then you should be using another device in the Audio Input Control panel...
