I finaly did it i beat Halo on heroic. I tried lendgendary didnt last 2 minutes!
-
The main thing to remember on Legendary is to take your time. Make the enemy come to you.
The AR is useless on Legendary.
The pistol is your friend.
Don't underestimate the Plasma Pistol. Keep one w/ you at all times for Elites.
-
On legendary, in the first level, when you kill those first 2 grunts, pick up one of there pistols in place of your assult rifle
-
Legendary a few times
-
the AR is my best friend in heroic... i struggled thru that, but it was AWFUL in legendary... i haven't even gotten off the Pillar of Autum yet :XD:
-
lol, CRUD, you need to lose the AR in legendary :P
it's no longer your friend, you must learn to love the Plasma Pistol and needler on legendary. All the other human weapons are still good, but the AR.....nooooooo
-
o, i LOVE the needler... love sticking it in grunts and watching them blow!
But you need to needler a hunter in legendary... has some BOOM results! ;D
-
i like using the shotgun against the flood. plasma dosent work so well on the flood i found out.
-
Umm im more of just a multiplayer guy :P
But I have clocked it on normal..
~d3struct
-
See I'm more of a multiplayer person myself, I made it through herioc on campaign, got bored, and now when I feel like a laugh I turn on dev and mess around with them on easy :chief:
-
ive done halo 3 on legendry by myself, but ive never sompleted the PC one. I get bored by getting lost SOOOO many times.
-
Legendary Halo Mac is easy. I'm just naturally good at computer games... ::)
-
I've beaten all the halos on ledgendary several times on the xbox, i dont do campagn on the PC
-
it took me along time to be patient enough to do legendary, but i did it
-
Err...Halo has a campaign?
/never got past 3rd stage on easy.
-
I did heroic instead of normal my first time. I've never got around to finishing halo on legendary though.
I mostly just click multiplayer
-
I quit playing it on easy when I got to the Flood in the swamp. I thought the Flood was stupid and got angry then quit playing. I decided to pick it up a couple months after to find out I accidentally deleted the profile  Then I tried using the "skip-ahead" thing where you change the information on your profile to jump ahead levels...and it didn't work.
Now I'm letting my sister play her way up to where I was. :P
-
I've never completed it on anything.....
Got to like the third part thingy whatchamacallit on easy.
-
Well, I finally mustered up the patience and beat it on easy.
I can't imagine it on anything harder. Not that easy was difficult (I rarely lost my shields unless a combat form came out at me with a rocket launcher  ), but the combat forms of the Flood literally surround you incessantly and I found myself getting meleed a lot by them.
I enjoyed reading the books more though. I felt that the game, while as in-depth as it was, cut a lot off and found itself being very repetitive. At least in the book when the Chief was going through the ten levels of the Flood as he searched for the Index, it just skipped through to the important parts of the mission rather than going through the whole redundant killing...
On a side note: With Halo destroyed, why can't the Flood still live? I mean, the ring only broke apart. It didn't vaporize. I could see a chunk of Halo interacting with another planet and the Flood (who still could live on that broken chunk) could infect the sentient life. I haven't read the Ghosts of Onyx yet nor played Halo 2 or 3 so...I guess I'll just have to find out!
-
I forget whether the Flood require some form of air to breathe. If they do, Halo being blown to pieces would probably cause the air to leave into the vacuum of space. Not entirely sure, though.
-
NO, lolz, the flood DIDN'T die! thats the catch! If the Halo was activated, it would have wiped out all life within a 100,00 light years or something, and would trigger the other Halo's, which would do the same. The only thing that can kill flood? Depriving it of food. I COULD go into a detailed piece on what the Forerunners plans were, but the end was: Spartan 117 saved mankind by destroying the Halo ring before it blew, but he also saved the flood. The ring was going to try to triggered by the prophets cuz they thought it was the way they could "accend" to the forrunnners, and live for eternity, but they misread it. The forrunners didn't use the rings to accend, they didn't accend, they.... *yawn* i'm too sleepy to post it here. :P
-
100,000 light years isn't far - that's only the length of the Milky Way ::)
Well, if you listen to Monty Python's Galaxy Song ::)
-
I got lost (on easy) and never found my way out :D

Well I knew all of that ('cept the little Forerunner/Prophet bit) from 1) finishing the game and 2) reading the first three books in the series. I was just coming up with a theoretical situation that I feel is reasonable. But boy I have many more questions than I do answers. I guess I just need to read the next book or two then understand the plots in Halo 2 and 3.
On a side note:
Halo's maximum range is 25,000 light years. To equate that to distances....that's about 1/4 the distance across the Milky Way galaxy or about 9 times the width of the Milky Way galaxy.
...and with scientists speculating that there are billions of galaxies in the Universe. Plus they are expanding and growing farther and farther apart because the Universe is expanding itself... That's a LOT of Halos. :P
-
I THINK there were only seven rings.... right? Maybe i be wrong. :P
-
yep ONLY seven!!!!!
lol i love the main control room in the arc in halo 3, you can even see the ring destroyed in there it has a little red side on it

now multiply that for seven!

Actually, by destroying the ring it forces the flood to fall into the gravity wells of either Threshold or Basis, as the ring was on Legrange 1, it requires active stabilization.
Either way, they burn up on reentry.
-
in the ghosts of onyx the starting chapters involve the covenant war between brutes and elites mixed in with the flood invading from the 2nd ring and from high charity. the other ring just burnt up very quickly.
-
woot!! i just beat halo on legendary like 30 minutes ago my god was it hard and long i dont even know how many times i died and how many bullets wasted but it was a lot lol finally i beat it! just wanted to share lol
-
well i beat it on only normal and easy simply because i feel that the campaign is not in my best interest so i just fly through it. i tried it on legendary and boy did i get frustrated. i was very angry as well i had to quit!!!
-
I've done it on easy (I think it was, maybe normal) and tried Legendary... Man that's a step-up and a half!
Got through the Autumn, but now stuck on the first mission on the ring (got up to some base, and got completely stuck because of a dropship and relatively low health)
-
I've just about finished the campaign at Normal difficulty. I get pwned rather easily, though. I guess I haven't beat Halo yet despite my best efforts.
-
I beat it on Heroic, and tried it on legendary, but couldnt get past the Library.. stupid flood..
-
go easy
-
Halo 1 : Legendary
Halo 2 : Heroic
Halo 3 : Legendary (all skulls on)
halo 1 wasnt all that hard, it took ages but it doesnt kill you to take your time in your work, hardest level was definately the truth and reconciliation.
Halo 2 i was part way done on legendary when i got bored on one of the arbiters levels.
Halo 3 was just easy compared.
-
i think you guys should use the AR whenever possible on legendary. And we can create the new hardness. UBERLY LEGENDARY HARD!
-
LOL! I've only ever done it on easy. Might try it on legendary some day.
-
Easy was rather hard for me so haven't tried others. I get all nervous with so many things to kills and there's no rocket launcher :(
-
de flood is scary
i like hanging back at the start and shooting everyone so you cant finishish it at all
-
Easy
I started on Legendary and normal but got bored with the beginning levels
-
When I first started playing it on easy, I couldn't imagine trying anything harder. Now after having completed all levels several times, I get bored on easy really fast.
The latest thing I've been trying is to make it through easy without killing anything. Well, make that without shooting anything. I only kill with a melee. Some areas won't allow you to advance until all enemies are dead.
I have not completed it yet but so far the most difficult thing to get past is yellow elite with the light sword/saber (whatever?). They are persistent and will chase you. Hard to get past them without killing them.
-
Halo 3 was just easy compared.
Yeh manz, I hate halo 1 on legendary, it anoys me because all the AIs do the same thing all the time.
-
Plasma pistol + AR for Elites is the best strategy. You can also stick them right after plasma pistol as well as they won't dodge it. I've beaten it on Legendary.
-
I play heroic like other people play as normal.
Play legendary when I get bored of heroic.
-
halo- havent beat it yet.
halo2- havent played it.
halo3-legendary
halo odst- heroic??
halo reach- havent beat it yet but working on legendary
Halo wars- mix of normal-legendary
-
Halo: part through normal and legendary
Halo 2: partly through normal
Halo 3: (So easy) Havent finished yet cause when I got new xbox had to start over. almost done through legendary but my disc broke :'( .But my map packs come on a seperate disc. Lucky me.
Halo 3: ODST: Normal
Halo Reach: Heroic (solo)
Halo wars: lol only finished the first level on easy :XD:
-
halo2- havent played it.
You have no excuse for calling it a fail then!

Tip for Hunters if you havin trouble on them on legendary
one pistol shot to the orange part on their back/neck/belly will kill them, either move towards them, then shoot the stomach after they try to melee you with their shield, or jump at them, they will bash you into the air, then turn around in mid air and shot their back with the pistol
its epic
or...one close range shotgun blast to the stomach will finish thm off
or a sniper shot to the orange parts

As they say, the bigger they are the harder they fall.
