Title: Racing 2020
Post by: BFM_Mr Do on January 05, 2020, 09:31:28 PM
For the new year, I decided to post a weekly summary of our Saturday night racing sessions. The idea is to give everyone an idea what is happening and to give us a chance to recognize some people's outstanding play. I took some notes so that I can provide some details. I hope that anyone who participates will feel free to chime in with things that might be interesting that I may have missed.

Our most recent session on January 4th saw the server filling up just after 9:30 p.m. Eastern. Between then and when I stopped racing at about 11:45, the server was full more than half the time, and almost always had at least 9-10 racers. It was a very experienced group and so the quality of play was outstanding. I counted four times that the map ended 15-14 and there were some other very close finishes.

With the server full or nearly full most of the time, getting 4 laps became an accomplishment and usually made the difference in the map. My notes show 8 times that only 1 person got 4 laps on a map and in all cases it was that player's team that won. This was accomplished by Invert, Shootist, Navy, Raeywen, Whipreck twice and me twice. I also had a 0 lap map on Blood Gulch and took some ribbing for that....

Some outstanding gunning performances included: Navy with 15 kills on Danger Canyon and later with 14 on Geph, Bob Marley with 23 kills on Danger Canyon, Whipreck with 11 kills on Death Island and Boredom with 10 kills on Ice Fields.

A good time was had by all, I think. We hope to see a full server again for a few hours this coming Saturday.

Also I will be increasing that number on DC sooner than later.

The second Saturday of the year was not quite as well attended as the first one. But we still had 8-10 racers most of the time and a full server off and on for a while.

During two of the full server maps, we had 4-lap performances by Navy on Geph and Kiwi on Blood Gulch to lead their team to wins. That was followed by Macair having 2 kills on Timberland, which was noteworthy because they were the only kills anyone had on a fast running of that map.

Notable gunning performances included Whipreck with 15 kills on Geph, Navy with 12 on Danger Canyon and Boredom with 12 on Ice Fields. I missed a lot of the racing in the middle of the session and so I am sure there were many more.

It was another night of really good racing. We hope to see a lot of people again next week.

You gotta give yourself some credit too, Mr. Do. You would've had up to 30 kills if we didn't get tripped up during the end of that late run a couple Saturdays ago.

Keep up with the reports. Our forums need a revival of sorts too.

The third Saturday of the year was much like the second one, with the server having 9-12 racers for a few hours and a lot of good racing taking place. In the first map I saw, Bob Marley racked up 5 laps and 15 kills in 4v4 action on Danger Canyon. (Macair actually led in kills on that map with 19.) Bob followed that up a couple maps later with 5 laps and 0 deaths in 5v5 action on Death Island. Style had a couple 4-lap maps at about that same time and a third one a few maps later.

Boredom had one of the best gunning performances of the night with 19 kills and only 1 death on Geph. He must like that map because later he had a 4-lap, 10-kill performance on it. Style had 4 laps and 8 kills on that same later running of Geph while Navy had 3 laps and 10 kills, and Invert had 4 assists.

Other notable gunning performances were Navy with 12 kills on Geph, Whipreck with 13 on Blood Gulch, Macair with 13 on Danger Canyon, Cuda with 11 on Sidewinder and in the last map of the night that I saw, Invert and Kozmo had 10 kills each on Blood Gulch.

Boredom, it is funny that you picked this week to say that I should call out my own successes some, because I had a bad week. I think I had 10 kills once.... I hope to do better next week and to see the server fill up a lot when Saturday night rolls around.

The fourth Saturday of the year saw a lot of great competition. At one point, there were three straight 15-14 maps, and a couple more at other times.

Invert was hot on the guns. It wasn't so much about big numbers as it was making some tough shots and key ones that helped his team win. On one running of Danger Canyon, he had 12 kills on the first lap to totally disrupt the other team and then drove the rest of the time and finished with 13. Style led that map with 14 kills and Kiwi posted a 430-second lap time that he seemed proud of....

On a different running of Danger Canyon, Macair had 20 kills and Bob Marley had 17. They were teammates and so that was not one of the maps with the close finishes. Bob also had a 5-lap map during 4v4 play and a 13-kill running of Geph.

Screech had 4 laps and 0 deaths on Death Island and then followed that immediately with 4 laps and only 2 deaths on Sidewinder, leading his team to close wins of both. Kozmo posted 4 laps on Geph in one of the 15-14 wins and Kiwi also had 4 on that map on the other team.

Other than on Danger Canyon, most of the top gunners for each map stayed in single digits as play was well balanced. These included Mil with 9 kills on Ice Fields and later with 8 on Sidewinder, Screech with 8 on Blood Gulch and Style with 9 on Geph.

I hope that others feel free to chime in with things they notice. See you on the tracks next week.

First Danger Canyon we played was as close as one could possibly imagine. Score was 14-14, blue team was inches away from the ramp making their way to win the map but here comes a hog flying from the skies to steal the map hehe (driving the tunnels is rough!). Very fun overall!

The fifth Saturday of the year was well attended and highly competitive, but only for about an hour and a half. During that time, there were four 15-14 finishes. During one of those, on Ice Fields, four racers finished with 6 kills each and six had 3 laps.

But there were some lopsided maps, also. On one running of Geph, Invert racked up 4 laps and 19 kills and there was nothing dramatic about that finish. He gave credit to his driver, Style.

Shootist put up 4 laps and 14 kills on Sidewinder. It was my first full map of the night and I swear half his kills were of me. He also had 10 kills the next time we played Sidewinder.

We had a surprisingly peaceful run of Danger Canyon where Bantarius led with 12 kills and no one else had more than 7. But then a couple maps later we had a bloodbath on Death Island where Bantarius and Invert had 10 kills each and a few others had 8 or 9.

Other notable performances were Whipreck with 3 laps and 9 kills on Geph, Screech with 13 kills on Blood Gulch, Bantarius with 17 kills on Danger Canyon and me with 5 laps on Timberland.

There were a lot of times people had to wait to get a spot in the server between 10:00 and 11:00 Eastern. So for anyone who wants to play next week, it is a good idea to show up before that.
Title: Re: Racing 2020
Post by: BFM_Mr Do on February 09, 2020, 08:15:50 AM
Week 6 showed that I was wrong about needing to show up early. There was plenty of room in the server until almost 10:30 Eastern but then we were full for almost two hours.

Before the server filled up, Whipreck made a couple of really nice cross-map shots on Timberland. He hit my hog as we were crossing the creek at one end and I still don't know where that rocket came from. He also continued to race well when the server did fill up, including putting up 4 laps and 8 kills on Geph and a couple maps later getting 4 laps and 12 kills on Danger Canyon. Bob Marley also matched his numbers on DC and Style had 4 laps.

Screech had 4 laps six times on the night while I was there. I have heard teammates express frustration with Screech not stopping to pick them up. But most of those maps were wins for his team and so maybe the tactic works more than we think...?

The best gunning performance of the night was Style racking up 17 kills on Blood Gulch to help his team to a lopsided win. I had a front-row seat to that and saw some really good shots along the way. He also had 13 kills on Ice Fields in the only 15-14 map of the night.

Other notable gunning performances were Bob Marley with 10 kills on Geph and 11 on Blood Gulch, Shootist with 10 kills on Sidewinder, Macair with 11 kills on Danger Canyon, Boredom with 12 kills on Sidewinder and Invert and Whipreck with 9 kills each on Ice Fields. We also had 4-lap performances by Mayo on Death Island and Bob Marley on Sidewinder. Bob also had 4 assists on Death Island.

There weren't as many super-close maps as in past weeks, but the racing was just as competitive, with neither team reeling off several wins in a row. After a late start, it was a great night of racing.

Week 7 of 2020 had the server fill up early but then usually was full only occasionally after that. The racing was very competitive again.

Cuda put up 4 laps and 10 kills to lead his team to a 15-14 win on Danger Canyon in the first map when the server filled up. He followed that with 11 kills on the next map, Ice Fields, and then a few maps later on Geph drove for a 4-lap 0-death map while his gunner, Boredom, racked up 4 laps and 16 kills. I would say that was the most dominant performance of the night except that the next time Geph rolled around Boredom posted 11 kills while his teammate, Navy, had 12 and that also was a lopsided finish.

I had 6 assists while chain gunning on Blood Gulch. I really wanted to go for double digits, but my driver got himself killed and I had to drive myself around for about 1 1/2 laps.

Other performances that were more notable than that included Bob Marley with 10 kills on Sidewinder, Boredom with 14 kills on Blood Gulch, Invert with 10 kills on Danger Canyon, Whipreck with 4 laps and 11 kills on Ice Fields with Screech getting 4 laps as his driver, Bob Marley with 4 laps and 13 kills on Blood Gulch, Bloodbath with 13 kills on that same running of Blood Gulch, 1hitkillr with 4 laps on a 15-14 running of Timberland, and Terminator had 5 laps in 4v4 action on Death Island near the end of the night.

As always, we hope to see a lot of people show up next Saturday.

Week 8 was fun. If you weren't there, you should have been.... I guess I can say that pretty much every week.

We have had some racers mess with their names and that makes it a challenge to write a report like this. This week we had a lot of good maps by 1hitkillr. But who is that? If it is a new racer who appeared on the scene just a few weeks ago then he or she learned racing in record time. On this night, 1hitkillr had 11 kills on Sidewinder followed immediately by a 4-lap Geph and a little while later 4 laps on Danger Canyon, 10 kills on Ice Fields, 20 kills on Danger Canyon and 12 kills on Ice Fields. We never saw Invert or Navy and so maybe it was one of them...? I encourage people to race under the names we all know them by. Whoever it was had a really good night.

DBoy91 also had a good night with 3 laps and 10 kills on Sidewinder, 3 and 16 on Danger Canyon and 4 laps on Geph, all of those in wins for his team.

I counted six maps that finished either 15-14 or 15-13, including a photo finish on Timberland where one racer ran into a rock at the end and was passed by an opponent for the winning lap. We also had some pretty lopsided maps, such as a 15-2 drubbing on Death Island.

Screech had 4 laps four times after the server got full and had 10 kills once. Whipreck got 4 laps twice and 10 kills once. Macair had 10 or 11 kills four times on the night. Boredom had a nice 3-lap, 10-kill Blood Gulch in one of the 15-14 wins in the last map that I saw.

I look forward to seeing everyone on Leap Day.

I had a lot of fun racing again. I'll have to make sure to join more frequently!

Hope to see you all again next week. I'll make sure to get some practice in so that I'm not so rusty with the driving and gunning!

I missed a lot of Week 9 with a late arrival due to technical problems. When I finally got a spot in the full server, the first two maps were 15-14 and I was told that the two maps right before it were that close, also. We also had another one a few maps later and a 15-13. So it again was very competitive.

I was only in for about 10 maps. During that time, I noticed a number of times when people had 4 laps and 0 deaths in a full server. That included Whipreck on Geph, me on Blood Gulch, and Unit Zero, Bob Marley and Raeywen on Death Island. Unit Zero also had 9 kills on that map as part of an all-around great gunning night. He had 13 kills on Geph and 10 kills on Sidewinder.

Other notable performances included Invert with 4 laps on Geph and DJ with 11 kills on Ice Fields.

I am going to miss next week's racing and possibly the following week. I hope that someone will consider picking up reporting duties in my absence. Or maybe a few people could chime in. It does not have to be so stat-oriented if people just want to tell a little about how the racing went. It would be appreciated.

03/07/20 Report

Well, I got in late and had to wait because the server was full.  As usual, the matches were competitive, but could've been more so if several  players would adhere to the rules more.  The rule-breaking and feigning the lack of knowledge does put a dampener on things and ruins the race experience for the skilled regulars on the server. If you note any indiscretions, please let the admins know the location and handle of the abuser. It would definitely make our jobs more efficient.

Sorry that I did not make note of the stats for exceptional performances except my own.  I was on the bottom 3rd of the list for most maps, had a kill/death ratio of less than 1, missed 5 bridge jumps (landed 1), dived off Gephy twice with a fully loaded hog, rolled the hog 5 times in sidewinder, zero laps twice, spammed the rules 6 times (to the chagrin of my gunner) , team shot 2 times, ran a marathon, etc. The opposing team was happy with my performance, my team was not. Hopefully, I set a bar low enough for myself so that next week will be better. If not.... :bang:

As a follow up, there was one map, which I can't remember, where Invert had 4 laps, and 0 deaths, which was an amazing feat with all the slaying that was taking place.
Boredom also isn't taking proper credit, and did race well on most maps, despite spamming the rules 6 times.

For a while, Invert and Cuda were on opposite teams, and the races were SUPER competitive. It was rather enjoyable. But then, a horrible fate was bestowed on us, and they ended up on the same team for a while, much to the dismay of the opposing team, rest their souls.

It was decided that Invert can only be killed on Tuesdays.

I swapped teams approximately 4 times, due to multiple people jumping off for the night at the same time, leaving teams uneven. I raced with and against the bests of them this past weekend, and I look forward to seeing how the turnout is this weekend!

As a side note, might I request that we also race on Wednesdays or Thursdays once or twice a month? With the amount of people I see (and the fact that Boredom had to wait due to a full server) I believe we, as a community, could be racing more frequently, if scheduled properly. And I would love to see it happen. Thoughts? (Maybe I should start a new thread for this last part.)

Thank you Boredom and Devin for posting some stuff about the week that I missed.

Last night was a great night of racing. I did not arrive until 10:30 and had to wait quite a while because no one was leaving. From sometime before that until well after 11, anyone who left had their spot quickly filled. A couple of people who arrived around 11:15 reported that they had been trying to get in for a long time. So there definitely is a prime time of Saturday night racing, and it looks like it is 9:30-11:30 Eastern.

At one point we ended up with all six on the Blue team being BFM racers and I was starting to feel guilty as we reeled off probably four or five wins in a row. But we kept noticing that the red team was still loaded with experienced racers and then they pulled of a 15-14 comeback win on Danger Canyon. That turned out to be the first of four straight wins for Red and so I guess the teams were actually pretty even.

There were a total of four 15-14 maps during the time I was online. One of those was my last map of the night on Blood Gulch and both teams had racers heading toward the final nav at the end. It reminded me of some epic scrim finishes when Blood Gulch was the overtime map.

It was good to see Suprm@n online and he really raced well, finishing with three laps on almost every map and gunning very well. He had 16 kills on one running of Blood Gulch, 10 kills on Ice Fields and even had a 4-assist map.

Dog of War actually topped that with 5 assists on a map. That was one of the close finishes where Whipreck led his team to victory on Blood Gulch with 3 laps and 8 kills.

Invert and I put up identical 3 lap and 12 kill stat lines as teammates on Sidewinder. Mil, Whipreck and I each shared the lead with 11 kills on Danger Canyon when Mayo had 4 laps to lead his team to the comeback win. I also had 4 laps and 18 kills on Blood Gulch.

Other notable performances included Kiwi and Jark with 4 laps each on Timberland, Devin with 11 kills on Danger Canyon and 10 on Timberland, Mil with 13 on Ice Fields, Macair with 10 on Geph, and Style with 14 kills on Geph and 11 on Blood Gulch when he finally got into the server late in the night. (I think he was angry about having to wait.)

With people spending so much time at home right now, we anticipate the next few Saturdays being very busy again. I plan to try to show up earlier next time to make sure I get a spot and I encourage others to do the same. We also should consider an additional racing night as mentioned on the forums by Devin. If others would be interested in that, I suggest posting a suggestion for which night.

No problem, Mr Do. Thank YOU for always posting these. Reading the report each week brings me joy.

Racing seemed to start a bit early this week, with about 6 players total showing up half an hour early to get in some laps before everything really got started.

I have to say, I felt pretty great about my gunning last night, especially when I was on blue team. I don't remember specific details, but there was a map or two where Invert was my driver, and I don't think I've shot better in my life. Almost the whole night felt like a scrim, and the intensity even reminded me of back when I would participate in the Captains Scrims.

I haven't seen driving or gunning as good as last night in a LONG time. It was amazing.

Then, after many left due to latency, Style, MacAir, and someone I didn't recognize (Kozmo or something, maybe) ended the night on Danger Canyon, where Style and I proceeded to basically be a circus act due to unfortunate spawns and deaths, both on my part. He was a good sport, and I don't think I've laughed so hard from being killed in a game ever.

It was a great night, and I hope to be on next week as well, if I can make it before the server fills up!

Title: Re: Racing 2020

The best thing that happened in last night's racing was that we decided to add two more nights of racing to the weekly calendar for the time being while so many people are spending so much time at home. I hope that people take advantage of that on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. Central as mentioned in the Announcements board.

The best thing I saw in racing was Bob Marley and Mil going on a total rampage in Blood Gulch. Mil drove and Bob gunned as they racked up 4 laps each and Bob had 20 kills. Their team won 15-5. A couple maps before that, Bob had racked up 15 kills on Sidewinder, and then Mil had 12 kills on Geph. Mil also had 4 laps on Timberland right after that and so the two of them had a hot streak for a few maps.

I missed a few maps in the middle of the night because of technical problems and the server being full, preventing me from getting back in. Of the maps I did see, there was only one 15-14 map and a lot of lopsided ones, but not always in the same direction. There was a running of Blood Gulch where nobody had more than 8 kills and a running of Timberland where one team finished with no kills. (They lost.)

On one running of Ice Fields, Suprm@n led his team to victory with 4 laps and 11 kills while Macair and Puddin also matched him with 11 kills. Other notable performances included Devin with 14 kills and 1hitkillr with 13 on Danger Canyon and Invert with 14 kills on a later running of Danger Canyon.

I hope to see everyone on the tracks Monday.

Wow. Tonight was the first Monday night I played Halo race in years. Considering that players were informed on such short notice, the server was full during the middle of the 4 hr session. The usual suspects included Enigma, Mr. Do, MacAir, Mil, Devin, Bob, Style, myself and others. Even Jay and Mike showed up a bit later to join in on the racing. Even though some of the players were in "lockdown"  in their respective locations, they were still able to come in after their essential work. Now that is dedication. Good job to all, stay healthy, and hope to see you all Wed.  :)

I guess I left too early on Monday night because I did not experience anything close to a full server. But that was not a problem at all on Wednesday night as we were nearly full starting around 9:30 Eastern and stayed that way pretty much until 11.  The quality of racing was just like a Saturday night.

We had a 5v5 Danger Canyon in which Macair had 19 kills while Mil had 15 and Style had 11. Later we had a running of Danger Canyon where only one racer reached double figures in kills, which was Suprm@n with 10. So there was a variety of results.

We also had a running of Geph with some high kill totals but Suprm@n and Style finished with 0 deaths and Devin died only once. All three had 4 laps.

We had close finishes. There was a 15-12 Ice Fields where the losing team had four racers coming to the score nav. Style led that win with 4 laps. There was a 15-13 Blood Gulch where a lot were around the score nav at the end. Screech had 4 laps and Suprm@n had 12 kills on that one. BarbeBleue had 4 laps in a 15-13 win of Timberland. And there was a 15-14 Sidewinder that Bob Marley helped pull out with 4 laps. Bob followed that up with 7 kills on the first lap of Geph in 4v4 action during my last map of the night, finishing with 12 kills.

Other notable performances included Macair with 4 laps and 12 kills on Blood Gulch, E7 with 4 laps on that same running of Blood Gulch, Screech with 4 laps on Blood Gulch and 4 more on Ice Fields and Mil with 11 kills on Ice Fields.

On a side note, anyone reading this who has not already made an entry in Fuzzy's number-guessing game should do so right away. There are real prizes awarded in the form of Steam games. See the thread in the "Gaming and Halo-themed Games" section.

See you Saturday!

We had a running of Danger Canyon last night that was either epic or messy, depending on your point of view. Seven racers finished in double digits for kills, most of them over 15. Boredom led that with 18 kills and Fuzzy had 17. Of course that also meant there were a lot of double-digit death totals. It was a tense 15-14 map and so I tend toward calling it epic. It was late in the night and a handful of people left during and after the next map, as though feeling spent after that war.

On an earlier running of Danger Canyon, only one racer had double figures and that was Style with 10 kills. He had only 1 lap but his team pulled out the 15-14 win. That map was more typical of most of the racing, with a lot of close maps and often having no one in double digits. We had one running of Blood Gulch where no one had more than 5 kills.

But we did have some stand-out performances, such as Style with 15 kills on Geph, Cuda with 12 on Ice Fields and 11 on Geph, Devin with 12 on Sidewinder, Fuzzy with 11 on Geph, 1hitkillr with 10 on Ice Fields and Mil with 10 on Blood Gulch.

We look forward to more great racing on Monday.

That Danger Canyon was epic and I didn't mind having like 15 deaths at all. The messier the map, the better hehe  Racing lasted for about 4 hours and it was another great night!

Boy howdy, last night was a ton of fun! It was the most fun I've had racing in years!

Some of the maps were really close. But towards the end we started getting a lot of lopsided maps. I reckon enough of the best players started heading for bed, and the distribution of talent became a lot more uneven.

Look forward to seeing y'all on Monday!

Last night, I had the pleasure of gunning for Boredom for many maps, due to a combination of lucky spawns and him driving back to pick me up. Thanks to his amazing driving, I gunned like I was never able to before, and tended to live a bit longer than I normally would, resulting in more laps.

There were some maps where I could barely tell what was going on, but the racing never stopped, and it was an extremely enjoyable night. I hope to have another night as intense as last night soon. It was a lot of fun!

Had a pretty good night tonight. Turnout was a bit soft. Several of us had been in there since 8ish. We got to ten players just after 10PM, and peaked at 11 players during that hour. Our numbers slackened at 11, and slowly drifted off except for a brief spurt where we picked up a bunch of new players with funny names. After that it turned into a 3v3 match.

We had some standout performances from MacAir and Devin, both of which contributed heartily to their teams.

I also want to single out Whipreck for his sportsmanlike behavior when he chose to spectate a pair of matches that were skewed 3v4.

Looking forward to this Wednesday!

The last map for me last night...Bloodgulch....didn't go well for our team. MacAir got on the guns and proceeded to gun us down. Despite our attempts at resistance, we got maybe 7 laps by the end of it? It was super fun. Even with less players, we still had some amazing races.

We had a little better turnout on Wednesday night, including a stretch of about eight maps when we were full or nearly full. We finished that with another one of those total wars of running Danger Canyon. All of the hogs were spawning at blue base and so there were walkers to contend with pretty much every time someone came into red base. Devin led with 18 kills and Mil had 13 as their team pulled out the 15-13 win.

Mil also led his team to a 15-14 win with 11 kills on Ice Fields. Boredom had 12 kills on Death Island. Most other maps had more civilized numbers....

So yesterday was the most people we've ever had! It actually started a lot earlier since Crimson got the server started 1 hour before the usual start time. It ended up getting full close to the starting time! Anyway, I could count 14 people on our Discord with 8 people being in the Halo racing room (our voice channel) throughout the night with some new people joining in later as the races kept going. Things didn't go too well for our Red team for a while but still had a lot of fun! I'll let Mr Do do his thing now.

It is hard to summarize the really great night of racing that we had last night. Like Mil said, the server was full before our regular start time. That started pretty much four hours of constant 6v6 of all experienced racers. The things that happened covered the full spectrum of the Halo racing experience.

We had a running of Death Island that came down to probably a fraction of a second in the any nav format as the 14-14 tie was broken by a Red racer as a hog with two Blue racers was hitting their last nav at the same instant. It made me think of the days when we had people running time trials to figure out how to shave parts of a second off of their lap times.

We had a string of maps won by the Red team as Mil mentioned. The list of racers did not seem to be that one sided, but one team got hot and the other did not. But even in the middle of that run of probably a dozen maps there was a 15-14 win on Timberland by Blue. (Dusaro had 4 laps to lead that.) And the run included three 15-14 Red wins. Style had 10 kills on Sidewinder in one of those losses and AJ had 11 kills on a later 15-14 running of Sidewinder in his first map of the night.

Have you ever had one of those maps where you just can't get in a hog and moving without getting killed 2 seconds later? It happened to the whole Blue team during a 15-2 drubbing on Geph. Fuzzy had 10 kills in that one and must not have felt too guilty because he had about that many during his first lap of the next map on his way to 17 on Blood Gulch.

We had two runnings of Danger Canyon in which no one reached double digits in kills or deaths, though in one of them there were four Red racers with 8 kills each. During that, Bob Marley and Whipreck had 4 laps each. On a different running of it, Invert led with 11 kills and 1hitkillr had 10 while Style somehow snuck through with 4 laps and only 1 death.

I missed a lot because of not being able to get into the full server. I still saw a lot of great play besides what was already mentioned. This included Mil with 12 kills on Ice Fields and 11 more immediately on Death Island, Devin with 11 kills on Sidewinder and immediately with 12 more on Geph and then 12 more later on Ice Fields, and Style with a 16-kill domination of Blood Gulch.

Hopefully the overflowing server on Saturday means that we will get some more full-server racing on Monday and Wednesday. We look forward to seeing everyone on the tracks then.

We had at least 5v5 and often a full server for two solid hours of Monday night racing. Most maps were 15-14 or 15-13 except when teams were 5v6 for part of a map.

Bob Marley had 14 kills on Blood Gulch and then two maps later had 15 on Danger Canyon. He also had 4 laps (along with Invert) in a 15-14 Death Island win and so was the MVP at least of that map rotation.

We had more 4-lap performances than normal, including BarbeBleue on Danger Canyon (where Fuzzy had 16 kills), Boredom and HLN Boxer on Sidewinder (Invert had 12 kills), Style and Fuzzy on Ice Fields and Boredom with 4 laps on another 15-14 running of Death Island.

Other notable gunning performances were Devin with 13 kills on Ice Fields and Macair with 15 on Sidewinder in one of the 15-14 wins.

The evening showed that for anyone who might have been frustrated trying to get into the server on Saturday, they could have a lot of fun without that frustration on Monday or Wednesday.

It's been a great turnout during the week.  Although I come at 930c, still see a full server of legends.

Someone run a bot check on Devin.  He is a scary gunner to say the least.

See ya tonight!

I was thinking recently that I could not remember anyone breaking the 20-kill mark lately. Then last night it happened twice. Boredom did it first with exactly 20 kills on Ice Fields in mostly 5v5 action. And then Fuzzy put up a 4-lap 20-kill domination of Geph.

Devin posted 18 kills on Danger Canyon and Whipreck had 5 assists. So there was a lot happening on that map, as always. Mil had 16 kills on a later running of Danger Canyon. And there were some 12-kill performances by Invert (twice), Mil and Fuzzy.

There was a lot of great driving, also, in another night of very competitive racing. Looking forward to Saturday...

Another great night which saw another record on our Discord with 9 people at the same time in our Halo Racing Room channel. I guess everyone wanted to get some practise for the upcoming scrim this Saturday! I'm very much looking forward to Saturday now.

I was in the public server for only six maps on Saturday. I saw Style get 4 laps twice and Bob Marley got 4 laps once. Terminator got 13 kills on Danger Canyon. And as always, it was some really good competition.

From what I heard, there were plenty of racers in the public server even while we were scrimming. So that shows what a very healthy population of racers we have right now. Looking forward to Monday night....

I got 10 assists on a map last night. I don't remember seeing that happen before. I was going for the triple-double but fell short by 2 kills. (The other double-digits were deaths....) It was on Danger Canyon, of course. Five racers had double-digits in kills, led by Style with 14. Bob Marley had 4 laps to help his team win it.

Bob also had 4 laps on a close running of Timberland, and Style put up 4 on a different close running of Timberland. Style also had 18 kills on Geph and 16 on Sidewinder and so he had an all-around great night.

AJ also had a good night with 4 laps on Ice Fields twice and Bood Gulch once along with 10 kills on a different running of Blood Gulch.

Screech stood out with 16 kills on Danger Canyon and followed that immediately with 4 laps on Ice Fields. Boredom had 4 laps on Geph and 12 kills on Danger Canyon. Other standouts included Devin with four maps with at least 10 kills and Whipreck with 4 laps a couple of times.

During a stretch of about 10 maps when we had a full server when I was racing on Wednesday night, the highlight was a series of three straight 15-14 maps. The Blue team won Timberland and then Red won the next two behind 15 kills by Fuzzy on Danger Canyon and then 12 more by him on Ice Fields. Invert had 11 kills in that running of Ice Fields and then followed that with 10 more on Death Island as Enigma got 4 laps to help Blue team pull out that one.

Other stand-out performances included Fuzzy with 4 laps and Macair with 12 kills on an earlier running of Danger Canyon, AJ and Whipreck with 4 laps each on Death Island, Bob Marley with 4 laps and Boredom with 12 kills on Geph and Screech with 12 kills on one of my last maps of the night, when I was too tired to make note of what map it was (either Sidewinder or Geph).

And the racing is like that these days, fun and competitive so that a lot of us stay longer than we should. See you Saturday.
