Alrighty everybody! I've been getting a lot of people lately asking me how to insert map files into halo CE. So i've made step by step instructions..
HALO CE MAP FILES STEP by STEP!
1) First off open the link to your new map.
2) scroll down and click DOWNLOAD
3.) if you havent already, Create a new folder on your desktop called "CE maps" or something along those lines. Just be sure you dont forget it!
4.)Save the file you are going to download onto your new folder on your desktop.
5.) Once your file is done downloading; open the folder on your desktop and there should be a new ZIP folder in there. You will right click on the folder and then hit extract all.
6.) Lets say your map name is beryl. After you are finished extracing the folder you will then open the new folder that just appeared.
7.) if your folder is Beryl then there will be a MAP file, and two Text Documents. *other maps may have more files inside*
8.) you will right click on the MAP file and click COPY
9.) now, open MY computer
10.) go to Local Disk (C:)
11.) go to Program Files
12.) Microsoft Games
13.) Halo Custom Edition
14.) open Maps
15.) now right click in this folder and click PASTE
16.) REPEAT AS NEEDED
NOw... When you are done with all your map files then go back to your DESKTOP, and copy your folder you made for map files. Then paste that folder into your (D:) drive. This way if something happens and you loose everything, you will still have all your maps!!!!!
