Title: New Graphics Card
Post by: BigShot on August 30, 2009, 09:41:58 AM
I've decided to replace my Nvidia 8400 gs (NEVER BUY ONE, THESE ARE HORRIBLE FOR GAMING) with a Nvidia GeForce 9500 Series card from sparkle. The card's model is SP95GT1024D2L-HP and seems to be a very good card for PCI and price-wise. I've researched this card and have only seen good reviews out there. Newegg.com had the card for $90.00 but I wanted to see if anyone had any complaints about this card before I bought it.

The card it's self isn't bad, but it's kinda low end to today's gaming standards. You will be able to play Halo with it without a problem, but you will have performance issues with some other more recent titles.

Also, I've never bought any products form Sparkle, so no feedback there.

Sparkle is a good brand.

Depending on the games you play it is a good card. As Max said it will play Halo, but might not more recent games.

But yeah my input is Sparkle is good :)

I had a sparkle 8800 gtx and had no complaints at all , good brand.

I also agree , the 9500 is probably a good card but no it will not handleany of the later games to well.

I would look at a gtx 260 , very reasonably priced and with enough power to run most anything,

I had a quick look on Newegg at that budget and there are definately better cards at that price:

Zotac 9600GT 1GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500117 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500117) $90
Sparkle 9800GT 512MB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187091 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187091) $90
Sapphire 4850 512MB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102824 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102824) $95

If your set on that budget, go for one of those would be my advice.
