i just got the game today and i just now tired to get in and it said that i had a different verison, how do i get it to be the same?

I found and downloaded this:
CoD4MW-1.6-1.7-PatchSetup.exe
I won't provide the exact link here. You will have to google it and find your own. When you open COD4, it tells you your version at the bottom right. You want it to start with 1.7....... something the only thing that matters is the first 2 numbers. You are probably at 1.6 right now. Go confirm that and download the patch. Have fun in the BFM server!

You will need to download all the patches, i think there is about 7 of them. Just Google call of duty 4 patches and they should come up in a list.

It seems like mine auto-patched up to 1.6 automatically, but I had to download the 1.7 patch specifically. I could be mistaken (or the way updates work could have changed, maybe).

Akuma is correct. You can download an all inclusive 1.6 patch and then the 1.7 one individually.

Well if you just got the game it probably is already 1.6. I will be on vent tonight, I can walk you thru what you need to do. It isnt that tough.
