Not really Media, but I was given this prompt:
     ->99. using a piece of wire, a car window sticker, an egg carton, and any inexpensive hardware store items, creates something that would solve a problem. Tell us about your creation, but don’t worry: we won’t require proof that it works.

My response is: (Wrote it in about a half hour... Nowhere near good writing.. but clever :) Thought it would maybe brighten someone's day.. I dunno :P


Looking east to west and north to south; the message is becoming clearer by the second.  The encoding is not too hard to understand.  However, it takes patience and time for the message to come through.  With no doubts in the mind, the decoder is doing its job.  Nobody would think that the creation would work, let alone work correctly.  Fairly cheap to make and easily assembled, the simple invention exposes knowledge that is still unknown.
   To work this machine all items needed are common, and easy to retrieve.  The instructions however, are more complicated and need to be followed thoroughly.  Added together, twelve items will be required, with some mechanical skills as well.  A piece of wire: compass, car window sticker, wooden box, scissors, pencil, bowl of water, black light, laser pointer, yellow construction paper, mirror, and a AA battery is all that is required. While the materials are easy to come by, the instructions are one of a kind, and detailed. The slightest misunderstanding of the instructions causes complete failure.
   Only one item needs to be slightly modified, making the item now usable in the decoder.  The laser pointer should be disassembled; between the two wires in the laser pointer one is negative and the other is positive.  The positive wire needs to be stripped of coating, and reduced in circumference to provide more volts running through the wire then originally designed.  The negative wire should be completely removed and wrapped around the positive one.  When wrapped around, the electromagnetic force is strengthened even more.  The thin wire is needed now to be cut in half, and connecting to the exterior AA battery, providing a stronger and hotter laser.
   With the laser pointer modified, all that is needed to be set up is the stand.  It holds the object being examined and the laser pointer steady. An egg carton is to be substituted as the bottom of the box, to prevent the heat from piercing the ground.  Because of the cartons unique shape for holding eggs, reflects the heat off, almost vanishing it all together.  The item now may be placed on the stand.
   Having the item placed in the box, a car window sticker that is the same surface size as the item needs to be carefully placed over the top of the object being tested.  The pointer will move around the design of the sticker to cut out a three dimensional shape mirroring the sticker.  Modifying the laser pointer allowed it to cut through any surface. When the laser hits the egg carton however, all of the extreme heat is bounced off the unique shape of the egg carton, bouncing off it causing the disappearance of heat.
   After the cut out is cooled off, it must be placed 3.25” away from a mirror that is 3:2 scale of the object.  Sunlight needs to reflect off the mirror at a 36 degree angle to provide a shadow on the floor. The time of day is not significant in the process so long as it is before the sun sets or rises.  A piece of yellow construction paper is now placed over the shadow, and traced with a pencil.  Then, the experimenter will cut out the shape with scissors.  The cut out requires placement in a bowl of water for 54 seconds.
   Immediately after the shape is soaked for 54 seconds, it will need to be rushed to an enclosed room with a black light that is placed 13 inches above the soaked cut out.  Proper placement of the object is essential as well.  The angle which most closely mirrors a 45 degree angle is to be placed directly under the center of the black light.  Once the placement is correct, the only thing left is to decode the message.
   A trusted compass is needed for the final step, decoding.  To decode the message hidden, the person whom is decoding needs to determine which water lines emerge pointing east to west after 15 minutes of sitting.  Lines pointing east to west resemble a letter in the alphabet that is numerically placed evenly, while the lines pointing north to south resemble letters in the alphabet facing north to south.  Phrases now are clearer and clearer.  The hidden messages in the simplest of objects may indeed hold the key to solving problems.
