Yes, I am necroposting (because I still don't have a sticky on this, nor a BFM order to abandon this thread), but I added a browser.

ScaR told us about Google Chrome in General.
Congratulations!

Yes, Google Chrome was released (more like leaked, I think!) recently - for Windows ONLY. (Promises - and embarrassment about not having! - a Mac version coming soon....)

FYI and funny if it wasn't intentional: The engine inside of the Mozilla browsers (Netscape & FireFox) was named "Chrome" almost a decade ago!  ::)

More in this BFM forum thread about Google Chrome....

I may as well post this too, if you're listing Flock and the ruddy IE-skins.

K-Meleon is, like Flock, mainly Firefox but targeted at a different user-base. It's a 'lite' version, with a bunch of stripped out features.

I was about to add that in when I saw this post...

I am using Google Chrome currently. I am cautiously testing it out. But I do think that it will be my primary browser very soon. It is much faster than Firefox and easy as pie to use.
Currently traveling through the unknown times in my life. I will be back when i find myself.

Thanks for the sig BFM_H@ngm@n

Yes simplicity is king.  :) Not only is Google Chrome a piece of cake (not that any browser confuses me), but it's FASTER than Firefox, more simple, and has a heck of a lot more viewing space. I also like the function that allows you to make bigger or smaller the text input boxes like the one I'm typing this in.

To top it off, upon installing and running Chrome for the first time, it easily 'one-click-garrisons' all your settings, data, bookmarks, and bookmark toolbars into Chrome from Firefox. No browsing for the files anymore!

Lack of a smooth scrolling feature aside, the only major flaw I find in Chrome is the lack of spell checking as you go. Granted it highlights in red what is mis-spelled, but when you right click it to see suggestions, it simply pops up the editing interface to Undo, Cut, Paste, Copy, etc;  :headbonk:

Conclusion, good browser, very stable, very FAST, but a few minor flaws that need to be tweaked. Even in BETA stage, this browser has impressed me, but I'll stick with Firefox till its Post-Beta stage.  :)
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body;
But rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting:
HOLY SMOKES! WHAT A RIDE!

If Chrome gets TOO popular, I might have to put it next to Firefox and IE in the "Browsers We All Seem To Know About" section.

Oh dear... I'm against Chrome for a couple of reasons:
- Security. Type "google.com" in the URL bar, and Google will receive the following text data:
g
go
goo
goog
googl
google
google.
google.c
google.co
google.com

I don't trust Google that much!

- World domination. Seriously, if Chrome takes off, Google will be a security threat.

Google knows.

Configuration? What configuration!?. How can anyone stand the lack of menus and settings to play with? After using Firefox with a couple of essential web-developer plugins, Chrome seems like it's right at home in a "... for Dummies" book!

Webkit. Just like Trident, Webkit is evil. Like Trident, it breaks with the most simple CSS. Badly.
