Use of the "Report to Moderator" link
« on: August 01, 2007, 06:08:38 PM »
When should the "Report to Moderator" link be used?

Should it be used when someone posts something that is clearly in the wrong section?  (Example:  Requesting Vent Password in the Time Trials board... or quite possibly this post... since I was debating if it goes in Questions for Officers or Forum Problems, Errors, Requests)

Or should use of this link be reserved for emergencies when something is posted that is just plain inappropriate to post on these forums... (Example..    language such as ********   :siren:  (Edited so that noone needs to click on the report to moderator on this thread   :o  ) )

Thanks,

Lord Newbie

When you use that link an email is sent to the administrators of the site and moderators of the particular board.  So when should you use it- really when you feel it is needed.  In both circumstances it will bring the moderators attention to the post which needs to be addressed, so I would suggest it is ok in both circumstances you have described.

Cheers
