2nd Modem? (ANSWERED)

For my new PC, I do not want to have it connected to the router, directly nor wireless. (This takes a lot of the speed away) I want to have my computer on it's own modem so I can use my internet to it's fullest potential.  I have a phone line in my room here.

Any suggestions?

I ran speed test and noticed if I did a direct connection from the router to the computer, I wouldn't lose much speed at all, compared to what I was losing with wireless.  If worse comes to worse, I'm am going to buy a 'network switch' and connect that to the modem and then connect the network switch to the router...

Modem ----> Network Switch ----> Router

The network switch would be connected to my PC only and the router would still give the wireless to the other laptops in my house.

Think you will get some lag still from the speed difference to your PC wireles connect vs. the direct connect of the modem. Just my 2 cents.
