They tell me I can only play 2 hours a day, some days they enforce it and some days they don't.

I posted about my (long-gone) parents, but as a parent MYSELF I neglected to answer, so!:

My deal with ANY kids is this: SHOW ME that you've completed anything those responsible for you consider to be more important than [fill in blank with non-productive activity, e.g. playing Halo] and THEN you can do it until you are no longer in that situation.  (I.e. Now have something more important to do.)

of course, the argument always rears up about who decides what is "more important," but once the boundary has been defined - which take less discussion than you might think - I see that it's set in stone.

Again....I am the parent. My kids are too young for computer games just now, but I agree that there should be boundaries relating to the completion of chores and definitely not sitting in all day when the sun in shining outside.!

I had a huge addiction to the original Command and Conquer and DOOM games back in 1995 when I got my first PC and my parents did try to impress these boundaries on me, but they were pretty tolerant of it at the same time...... My gaming time was kind of a reward for teaching my dad how to actually use the PC. :siderofl:
